Who knows about this guy? Ron Paul 2008 — Hope for America is his site.

Im just curious to know how many people here know who he is and what he stands for. he is definately alot different from the other Republicans in the race...in fact he is the only candidate i would dare vote for, even though he is an economical libertarian (im socialist).

anywho, what do you think about him?

Hmm, what do I think? For starters I consider many of his positions to be very naive thinking and frankly I much prefer a clever huckster over a blustery buffoon. His positions don’t actually merit much serious consideration, I’m afraid.

The only thing I do not like about him is that he believes America to be a Christian nation.
But if it comes down to him and Clinton, I will not hesitate to vote for Ron Paul.

Yeah, I didn't know he thought that either. I don't think he does. But even if he does, he is libertarian enough to not let his religious ideas about the country get in the way of freedom.

I too am a libertarian socialist, but the only time I could see myself voting for him would be if there was real competition from a fascist party [not talking about the Democrats or Republicans]. That's not to say I would vote for Clinton or Obama, either. I could tolerate market anarchists and minarchists by possibly holding my nose and walking through the swamp, but libertarians tend to support intellectual property and current corporation models.

He's more of a constitutionalist than a libertarian, anyway.

i am also a libertarian socialist (definately socialist, mostly libertarian)...and i dont love everything about RP, but i think he is the best bet we have, and i dont believe he is corrupt. if i had to vote between him and any other candidate i would not feel as if i were choosing the lesser of two evils for once

His position on deregulation is simply idiotic and naive. And his position on religion in government and moral issues is hypocritical in my opinion. I prefer Gravel and Kucinich over Paul.

He may not be ideal at all, but I prefer him over our other choices. Some of his policies I find awesome, others idiotic.

I just dream of a day where we can get a real conservative party. Germany has the NPD, England has the BNP, France has the National Front. Where's our conservative party?

I don't think I ever want to see the day when a white nationalist party gets into power, but we do have a few of them here.

To me *real* conservative would be Libertarian and Constitutionalist, and *real* liberal would be Socialist and Green.

Ron Paul is the only real conservative running. However, I dislike most of his policies and his Middle East opinion is the only one I agree with.

They're there, it's just the two-party system makes them obsolete.

The only positive aspect of a two party system imho.:sorry1:
