I honestly think the man is suffering from some sort of mental disorder and it's sad that those at the 700 club don't somehow force him to step down.

Yeah, I am a Christian, but not a 'charismatic' like Robertson, and even I see that remark as a bit of a s--------t------------r-----------------e--------------t---------------c------------h...........!!!

I don't THINK Katrina was a judgement of God, and even if it was, it surely wouldn't be because of the actions of one single person. (would more likely be from the actions of many people). I mean, Ellen is a really funny girl, even if I don't go along with that lifestyle. And God surely has a sense of humor...(looks in mirror).

Katrina may be a glimpse of the beginning of the signs of the last days, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; THE SEA AND THE WAVES ROARING; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:25-26)

That verse never made much sense to me until the tsunami and katrina, duh! But I really doubt that God would permit such a thing as the result of ONE person, no matter how much influence they may have. I guess God only knows...(says jokingly...(?)...)

Apparently this is a fake website and not the real dateline... also the lack of sources from the real dateline lead me to believe that it is a fake article

I think the world is waiting for Robertson to apologize for his slanderous speaches, especially the victims.
I think I'm going to watch 700 club next time it's on so I can get a good laugh.

What's with bashing, Pat Robertson now? Can't find a scientist worth mentioning?

Thanks for noting that, Ryan! You seem to be right. I've checked all the sources I can, and every one that I can find references the 'Dateline' article, that I can't seem to find.

It's sad, though... You'd think Robertson comes up with enough 'interesting' stuff on his own that there wouldn't be any entertainment value in making stuff up about him.

Okely dokely...next time we find a scientist that stands up on tv and advocates the murder of a foreign head of state, tells us the people in power are termites because termites don't build things (obviously never seen a termite mound) and then goes on to say that apparently Satanists and Homosexuals are a hand in glove arrangement all the while lying about being a combat veteran when his military service consisted of keeping the drinks cabinet stocked, I gaurantee you we'll be all over the little bugger like rats on a festering corpse.
Does no-one find it scary that this guy is such a nuffnuff that we would automatically believe that he'd come out with something as ridiculous as suggesting 9/11 and Katrina were the direct result of God's wrath over the sexual orientation of a woman who voiced an absentminded blue fish in a Disney movie?
I think that's more of a sad indictment for the mentality of Pat Robertson than it is of our gullibility.

Perhaps Robertson should apologise to the American people for his support of the Bush regime. It is, after all, the incompetence of this administration in policy, political appointments, and agenda that's let do the death and destruction in this "most widely predicted" disaster.

Perhaps it is more noble to pray for an opening on the Supreme Court than to try and pray a hurricane away. :sarcastic

I think that even if Jensa , made it up it is still believable because of all of the whacky things that Pat says. No one challenged me on the Teletubbies. That was actually Jerry Fallwell, Pat Roberston's evil twin.

I think the point of who was to blame is an interesting one. These are natural disasters and we should not perceive them as some kind of punishment from God. God does not micromanage the affairs of people upon the Earth. To what end is the Judgement after one dies if one does not have free will?

I think that religion in general has the tendency to expect perfection from God. Within the fiery crucible of the Universe, God created a safe place for us to live. All of the natural forces of creation still exist here, so we are going to experience some of them periodically. This is why I view the end-timists as being misled. THey should quit looking to natural disasters and look more towards the affairs of people on this Earth.
