Yeah, bugger fitting in. Spent way too much time in my life trying to do that, and found the world a much freer more interesting place once I was just me.

Sometimes that 'fits in'. Sometimes it 'shows out'. But it's me.

Oh come on that was from your old forum link. It's gone.

Was just trying to point out what showed up.

I just visited a couple of times before I got a job. Its a friendly place, not so much for anonymous drifters. They want to connect, to know and be known -- very lovely people I think. I think Hip is interesting to me, because I have lived with some hip people two or three times but have never been one. I like to know the secret history of the world, and I can't do that without understanding people better. Am I actually hip myself? Maybe someday. It seems like you have to open up to connect with hip people. They are hurt if you are a closed shell.

Strangely, when I was there very few of the people who hung out considered themselves hippies.

Sort of like this is religious forums and (probably) most of the people here aren't religious.

    And I removed my socks.

It had been a couple of weeks, it was time.

(And now you know how I wound up on hipforums. :D )

Edit: although I guess that doesn't make any sense because if I were a real hippie I'd be barefoot.

Yes, but I consider a lot of people here to be very thoughtful and contemplative which is one of the goals of religion. By the squeeze theorem: thoughtful and contemplative people have made religious progress. Build on that kindness, faithfulness, a good attitude, generosity and you have the makings of very religious people. Abra-cadabra the forum becomes religious.
