I can read. Thank you.

Allow me to rephrase. Reliable with regard to knowledge of what?

Speaking generally between the two which is the more reliable source of knowledge? Please explain.

This attempts to make a dichotomy that doesn't exist.

Your religion and science should eventually end up at the same place on the subjects which are mutual between them. Where they diverge it's mostly subjects that neither feels it is in their scope.

However, if we're comparing purely mainstream religions then science. If we're talking personal paths of spirituality then we'd have to say both are important sources of information as they are not at odds.

Religion. Whether it's right or wrong, religious statements stay the same for centuries.

Something you keep changing and updating every time something doesn't fit is a lie.

A religion isn't a "source of knowledge", it's a specified set of beliefs and practices. Science and religion are entirely different concepts and comparing them is this way is irrational.

Well, I consider religion to not be a reliable source for knowledge at all (although some religious texts have some historical facts in them).

So science win hands down as far as I'm concerned.

What type of knowledge? Spiritual knowledge? Science doesn't investigate that.

Depending on how you define spiritual, yes science does investigate that for it does investigate the mind, its nature, its functionning. It also investigate the nature of the observable universe.

Religion is the acknowledgement and appreciation for the wondrous cosmos that we can never completely understand.

Science is the investigation of the wondrous cosmos that we can never completely understand.

Art is the interpretation and expression of our wonder regarding the cosmos that we can never completely understand.

[Thank you, Ray Bradbury, for most of this]

“Think of how many religions attempt to validate themselves with prophecy. Think of how many people rely on these prophecies, however vague, however unfulfilled, to support or prop up their beliefs. Yet has there ever been a religion with the prophetic accuracy and reliability of science? ... No other human institution comes close.”

Because you were specific -- "reliable source of knowledge" -- the answer is unequivocal: science.

Religion, to be sure, provides all sorts of people will any number of certainties, but certainties are not knowledge, are they?

You have this completely bass-ackwards. We continually learn new things -- and if we cannot update our understanding based on new information, then we are also completely incapable of actually learning anything at all.

And by the way, for most of us who see religion as being at the very least problematic, your assertion that "religious statements stay the same for centuries" is at least 98.7% of the problem. Not being able to adapt to new knowledge is the mark of self-inflicted ignorance.
