I have this picture in my mind of when I die, what will probably happen. My speculation:

Deity: "What do you think you deserve, after this life?"

Me: "Well I certainly don't think I deserve something like hell, but I don't think I'm quite worthy of some form of nirvana. Still a Young Soul."

    Deity: "Yep."

    Me: "Sounds good."

Then I'm born into the world again starting out a little dumber than when I left it, but by the time I'm an adult or older adult, perhaps a little wiser/more experienced than when I left it.

I find this a bit more exciting than the concept of say, "reaching a lower form of heaven by the skin of my teeth".

Your thought of reincarnation is a good one :) We can not know for sure what will happen when we die, but in my understanding, those who have lived a normally ok like without to much hate toward others and been a good person should not fear something like a Hell

I tend to think there will be a new "me" but with no recollection, memory, or connection with the last "me". Basically how this life began.

It's why I think there is a true death in terms of the ego but not the end of the experience of living.

What you are describing sounds a little like what happens in the Tibetan book of the Dead. When you die, if you feel you are worthy, you melt into the great consciousness and the endless cycle of death and rebirth comes to an end for you. If you judge yourself as not being worthy, where our self-hated is our greatest judge, then you start down the path of reincarnation. Along the way you are tortured by demons o of your own creation which perfectly match what you know inside yourself would cause you the most amount suffering. As you are suffering there are moments when you can again choose to see yourself as being worthy and melt into the higher consciousness. Or, you continue down the path. The process of suffering and choosing goes on for some time until you are reincarnated and born again to start the cycle of death-and-rebirth over again one more time.

Richard Gere reading it is a little weird and took me a while to get used to it.

There are seven spheres (realms) that have to be traversed before we can "go home".
At each, there is the "gate keeper" that you must pass by in order to go through their Dominion.
All along the way, if you do not know your SELF ( know who you really are ) they will stop you.

And yes, they will "punish" you ( the soul ), and send you back here in another "body".
And if you should make it to the Seventh "Heaven" , you will meet the "Creator God",
But whatever you do, DO NOT "melt into this great consciousness".....that One is NOT your "Father".

He is the false "god of this world", and desires to keep you here to use and abuse the eternal Spirit that you are.
But if you know yourself, He cannot touch you.

Yeah, but the "truth" thing I got figured out this time.
There really is no "paradox" after all.

Right, the normal progression is to live a more spiritually based life each time as the soul matures from each lesson. It's better than a static-state heaven. That's why the intelligence of the universe did it that way! The universe is smarter than even what we think we want.

Pretty much how I see it, although I figure there is most likely no active deity to have a discussion with after death. I did ask my Guru about a place with high likelihood of re-finding the sampradaya. He didn't give a direct answer other than to say it's in Siva's hands. The sampradaya has members from all over this planet, so who knows where a good place to be reborn would be? Technology in communication and increased mixing of cultures have made this world a smaller place.

I'm looking forward to a few hundred more lifetimes. Last lifetime was idiotic, and this one perhaps has been slightly less stupid.

I hope I don't hover and cause a hassle for anyone.

For most, death is the final burden one puts on the world.

All truth is based on a set of assumptions or axioms. These axioms are considered to be true without any proof. This is the way human language works. If you honestly examine your belief system you will find these axioms are pretty easy to find. And if you put these axioms under scrutiny you will find your belief system is no better than any other dogma.

Here's a great example of this examination of axioms of a belief system as it applies to science:

Everyone want's concrete knowledge. Everyone wants concrete truth. Well, unfortunately, there is no objective way to prove which dogma is absolutely the correct one to believe in. Our belief system is a free choice and not a decision based on reason.

Although I do understand the source of your confidence that you have found the "right" answer and everyone else is an idiot I do not accept it as being absolute truth.

ALL "axioms" result in mathematics (numbers).

From the Mind of God comes numbers,
    From numbers comes geometry,
    From geometry comes symbols,
    From symbols comes letters,
    From the letters come words,
and words come from our mouths,

So, on who's behalf are we really speaking ?

I meant axiom as in the idea of presupposition. I am well aware of Peano's axioms and the theory of counting.

It's all the same thing. Truth does not come into this world "naked".

I'm sure it makes perfect sense from your point of view. But I believe absolute authority comes from within. Anyone telling you differently is either trying to sell you something or get you to join the power structure of their cult.

If you say your version of the "truth" is the only real and valid "truth" then good for you. Whatever floats your boat.

Myself, however, I tend to side with the Tibetan monks on this in claiming all our words are form of delusion about reality. Reality is beyond our comprehension. People invent dogmas so they can pretend they have a concrete understanding of their existence. I'm sure yours is no different. But please try to convince me. Give me a list of absolute truths according your divine insights. This will be interesting.
