Regarding Rule 5

Hi everyone,

This is just a small mod notice to remind folks that in order to avoid rule 5 warnings, you need to let the profanity filter do its job. Writing words like s**t or a$$ is not acceptable and will be moderated. Please just let the filter do its thing automatically and you will remain warning free. We need to do this in order to be in line with Google's policies :)

Thanks.

Would foreign, technical, & humorous substitutes continue to be allowed?
Exempli gratia....

For rear ends....
"pigu"
"butt"
"arsch"
("Arschloch" would be too profane though.)

For feces, as in the context of flinging or hitting the fan....
"feces"

Maybe not "arsch". Not only is it to recognizable, it sounds like you're making fun of people with speech impediments.

I'm just a bit confused over this. Is it that the forum moderators are morally opposed to swear words (in the case of the first point) or is it Google's policies?

I was always amused that the word for donkey used in the Bible warranted the ***
The British (and Aussie) way of saying that word is not the same. Does it filter out that too?

I used the word for muffled giggling and it used the ****** because it contained the derogatory word for a negro. :p

How far should this go....seriously?

We all agree that swear words are not welcome to decent people but has Google become a “nanny” about words (even innocent ones) when at the same time allowing all manner of other offensive things to go ahead online?
