I wasn’t going to post anything today, but I heard something this week that caused me concern. As many of you know, there is a lot of change going on in our societies regarding gender rights and how someone identifies. As a mental health support worker, I’ve noticed this has come down in to my very own workplace. Women identifying as men, men identifying as women, and everything in between. You have to be careful nowadays not to call someone who is clearly woman ‘she’, or ‘her’ for fear of upsetting them. My normal choice of action is to avoid those who identify in this way. Nowadays, a person’s perceived identity is very important to them. Being mis-identified (accidentally or on purpose) is uncomfortable and can be offensive (and can be perceived as a form of harassment). Calling what is clearly a grown man, with a beard, and a low voice a ‘man’, or a ‘he’ could get you involved in an altercation.

What caught my attention was the story of a man who committed a crime, and during sentencing he said he identifies as a woman, so, he was sent to a woman’s prison. You can probably realize that such wouldn’t end well. He got several of the women there pregnant. I sigh and I pray about the evil situation we face in the world, all because Yahweh’s Word has been rejected. Yahweh has said male and female, created he them in Genesis 1:27, but people want to identify as something other than that which they were born as. Can’t people see that this confusion we are reaping, which comes from rejection of Yahweh’s Law, is getting out of hand? Men competing in women’s sports and winning all the games. How about people of a certain race, identifying as another race? Or people of a certain age, identifying as a different age to what they are? Can’t people see this is getting out of hand?

What gets me is this is even affecting children. Children are even claiming to identify as the opposite gender to which they are. Children, whose minds are unstable and who don’t even know what they themselves want.

No-one looks at the fact that sex “reassignment” doesn’t work. It’s impossible to “reassign” someone’s sex physically, and attempting to do so doesn’t produce good outcomes psychosocially. The most thorough follow-up of sex-reassigned people—extending over 30 years and conducted in Sweden, where the culture is strongly supportive of the transgendered—documents their lifelong mental unrest. Ten to 15 years after surgical reassignment, the suicide rate of those who had undergone sex-reassignment surgery rose to 20 times that of comparable peers.

Further, for those who are unwise enough to support gender reassignment, it might be worth to know that many trans people regret changing their gender. A new term I heard about was de-transitioning. You may have heard it yourself of trans people attempting to reverse their transition to a different sex. The number of young people seeking gender transition is at the highest it has ever been, but little is reported about how many of them regret the decision later, finding they are unhappy with their new gender. There’s even a charity that has been set up called The Detransition Advocacy Network, which aims to provide guidance to trans people who have undergone gender reassignment, but now want to change back to their original gender. I don’t know about you, but I feel the LGBTQ and whatever other letters are added on (I lose track) should feel ashamed. They are pushing for transitioning but they have no idea the damage that it is doing to people’s lives.

How about getting back to the Bible? We can achieve peace with our gender, with our life, when we keep Yahweh’s Law and embrace His Word. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says: “33 for Yahweh is not an Elohim of confusion, but of peace.” This world is in confusion and I’m afraid that due to the spiraling conditions of this world, the only thing that will put a stop to this evil will be when Yahshua our Savior returns and rules over this world in righteousness. Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest. This whole gender reassignment I know is an irritation to Yahweh as it is to me and it's rooted in a lack of peace. Peace is given to those who keep His Laws.

John 16:33 "These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

It amazes me how some conservatives spend so much mental energy anguishing over the fact that trans and non-binary people exist. When the world is so full of actual, serious, pervasive problems - gun violence, war, poverty, homelessness, climate change - the thing that gets their attention more than all of that, the thing they think their God is most incensed about is the fact that some people who were born as men identify as women.

It really is tragic that these conservatives cannot get past this. LGBTQ+ people are not going anywhere. We are not a threat. Please focus your energy on issues that are actually harming the world.

Hi epronovost. Good afternoon. Ancient laws I can agree with. But since His Laws are kept by His people even now, I would say Yahweh's civilization is very much alive. Yahweh is eternal. His Laws are just as relevant in our day and age than they were thousands of years ago. One of those laws in Deuteronomy 22:5 shows that women and men are different and the lines shouldn't be blurred. Yahweh's Laws are good laws and they cannot be surpassed.

Not really no. No nation on Earth keep the laws and traditions of the Ancient Kingdom of Israel and its successor states to this day in its entirety. It would be deemed insane in many cases (death penalty for eating shrimps or having tattoos for example). Sure there are still Jews and the Ancient Hebrew civilization have ''descendants'', much like the Ancient Romans or Greek, but it's not a living civilization.

I think Yahweh's laws are largely garbage. This one is particularly stupid.

If bigots spent as much time worrying about murders or armed robberies as they spend worrying about trans people, I would take them a little bit more seriously.

For some reason they would see it, if I would identify as the emperor of USA and demand that the people serve me as their emperor. It is interesting why identifying policy ends right there and people stop playing along. :D

A lot of this discussion came up with my son who had just returned from Florida and Disneyworld which at present was on the wrong side of Desantis on gender language. I am unfamiliar with the particular school curriculum but if its true these kids are much too young for it. I got no answer when I asked if Desney was on the wrong side, gender neutral, why go to Disney and spend your money and not boycott?

So how should a teacher in 1st grade handle a kid, which asks: Tommy has 2 mothers. One of them is trans. What is that?

That's their business, not the church's, which only adds to the difficulties of being transgendered in a majority Christian culture. Christian advice would be to just tough it out in one's biological gender, which is also a source of unhappiness. Such people will encounter difficulties whatever path they take, even without the church persecuting them. Christianity has nothing helpful to say to them. It has no answers to those problems. The choices seem to be gender dysphoria by not acting, and a life of hormones and bigotry.

I'd say that that is going in the wrong direction. Christians assume that their religion's moral dicta facilitate good behavior, personal happiness, and societal well-being, but I see the opposite.

Society will prosper from getting further from the Bible. It already has many times. Humanist values are much more likely to create societal happiness and well-being. The humanist community is not beset with scandal like the Christian community. Humanism has no Palins or Duggars, You say society could use more biblical influence, but look at where the Bible has its greatest influence, places such as the Catholic church. We can do better than that without religious influence.

And the church's reply to all of its failures? Those weren't true Christians. Of course they were. That's the only kind there is. Some are good people and some are failed people, with the ratios being much worse than in humanist communities. A major difference is that humanism is the embodiment of the Golden Rule, something Christianity gives lip service to even as it goes on treating people in ways that Christians would not want themselves treated. It's why the humanist community is at peace with and supportive of the transgendered even as the church labors to make their lives as miserable as it can. Shame on the church.

Now you're contradicting yourself. First you advocate for more Bible to bring "peace with our gender, with our life," and then you say that nothing will help before the apocalypse. Humanism can. Humanism is sensible and decent. Christianity is neither. It claims the moral high ground for itself, but its track record is miserable. It's results have been disappointing. It's program for people building is a failure compared to humanism.

Look at the number of anti-science people it produces. Look at the number of poor thinkers it generates making the worst arguments here on RF. Look at how readily they become anti-vaxxers and support the Republican party. You won't see that with humanists. Look at the humanists on RF. You'd consider them your best Christians if they called themselves that, if they said they believed in Jesus but rejected the church's understanding of his message and substituted its own. At last, you would see Christ-like behavior. Those are people you would call true Christians if they identified as Christian.

Here are two now. I like this exchange between these two atheist hosts of a cable call-in talk show and a Christian caller. From CHRISTIAN Negates His Own MORALITY - The Atheist Experience - YouTube This nicely illustrates the people building tendencies of these two traditions. These humanists are absolutely disgusted with this Christian:

Tracie (humanist: "You either have a God who sends child rapists to rape children or you have a God who simply watches it and says, 'When you're done, I'm going to punish you' .. If I were in a situation where I could stop a person from raping a child, I would. That's the difference between me and your God."

Shane (Christian caller): "True to life, you portray that little girl as someone who is innocent. She's just as evil as you."

Matt (humanist): [click] Goodbye, you piece of ****. I was a better Christian than you when I was a Christian and I still am.

Sorry, but the world needs less of this, not more. Yeah, I know, the caller is not a true Christian or a good person, and the humanists, who are good people, are stealing from Christianity.

I understand how angry words like mine make Christians, and I would have no reason to outline the failures of Christianity were Christians not taking credit for it that it doesn't deserve and implying that the move to secularism was harmful to society. But you did, and therefore so did I to set the record straight.

I can certainly agree with that, but it has a long way to go to get away from the Bible.

The Baha'i Faith position on transgender reassignment is as follows:
"the global, democratically-elected Baha’i administrative body—the Universal House of Justice—determined long ago that transgender/transsexual gender reassignment should be a private decision entirely left up to the individual and medical experts: "

Well, first I don't think it is a question that a 1st grader would ask. Given that the question did come up the only correct answer would be that not all family units are the same. Some have two mothers, some two fathers, some a father and mother. What is important is the love that holds that family together.

Well, you didn't answer if a kid has a transgender parent and tells that to another kid and the second asks questions about that?

But of course that would never happen, because there are no transgender parents, right?

There are today children who have at least one transgender parent. Or children even as young as 1st grade who are in effect transgender.
So imagine a boy dressing like a girl and a classmate asks the teacher this: My father says that Emilia is not really a girl, but a boy?
Now rephrase it like you want, but a 1st grader could ask a question to that effect.
