The theists who say they don't know yet aren't denying the possibility of it being God (As they beleive in God and thus take it as possible that God could be responsible). When theists say this, they are really just saying they do not understand what is going on. They are showing their wisdom by not jumping to conclusions.

Actuallly no, in many case' its just saying i dont want God to be the answer so i hope in the future there will be an athiestic one.

Atheist stance would be outright denial of God/s. Agnostics and even some religous non-theists (Buddhists, Humanists) stand behind the "don't know".
