Of course. If this thing really was the Original, Real, Official Ark©? Then, according to the bible, those NAZIs should have been struck dead simply for touching it in the first place.

But that wouldn't have made Dramatic Movie Special Effects, so perhaps that scene was deleted?

I think @Salvador may be a fan of The Big Bang Theory. On one episode it was brought out that Indian Jones's role was superfluous.

The debate was kind of buried in there: I do not believe there ever was an historical ark.

Sorry about the meandering fluff part. The movie was rather Iconic in American culture for a time.

Silly person! Of course the Ark is magic. Did you forget that anytime someone "unworthy" touches it, he is magically killed?

And? Any army that carries the Magic Box before them, they cannot be defeated?

It is the very definition of a magic box.

Finally? By Solid Gold, I meant a box made entirely out of gold, as the bible states-- not a wooden box covered in gold leaf. Boxes have insides, rather by definition.

Regardless-- the bible is quite clear it's Magic to a very high degree.

Indiana Jones didn't have to try keeping the power-hungry Nazis away from harnessing the Ark of the Covenant's power , because the Ark of the Covenant's power ended up destroying the evil Nazis anyways when they opened it up.

There's a hilarious couple of frames in there where one of the guys on the right in-frame is very obviously a dummy, and his hands jump up in the air and he goes jumping around like a ragdoll.
