Questions regarding sins in shaktism sect of hinduism

Hello all,
I am a hindu boy who lives in the UK. I am 20 years old and I am a fan of rock music. Rolling stones is one of many bands that i listen to. However, recently while I was reading an article i discovered that rolling stone's famous tongue and lips logo was inspired by goddess kali and most of you would probably know that the logo is a symbol of sexuality and rebellious attitude. Being a devotee of goddess Kali and other shakta goddesses i have been highly stressed about whether it is a sin for me to be listening to the music of the Rolling stones or i am just overly superstitious.
Kind regards

I mean to ask that is it something that would do. Would u listen to the rolling stones Knowing what i said.

I don't listen to rock music because a lot of it has a darker edge. So no, I personally wouldn't, but that sort of stuff is up to the individual. As for music, I prefer uplifting bhajans, or calming Indian instrumentals like sitar, veena, or even nadaswaram and thavil.

Why would it be a "sin." It's just music.

I would and I do. I like the Stones, as well as all kinds of music. Consider the appearance of Gene Simmons of KISS.

With his wild hair, protruding tongue, and if his face was painted completely black, he'd be a dead-ringer for images of Mother Kālī. But sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Listen to the music if the lyrics are civil and do not see the video where they may make obscene gestures, that will be OK for you - seriously. Obscenity in language or gestures is not a Hindu thing. There are better things to see, learn, enjoy.

What are "obscene gestures" and "civil lyrics"? That's largely culturally decided.

Agree, in India we tend to be more conservative - like no kissing in films. Although things are a bit lax these days, we (at least the elder people) do not like it.
