    arabian_knight1-

while I'm not personally a Satainist, I hope I can help with these. My personal philosophy of life is fairly close to it.

    1. do you believe in heaven and hell ?

Heven and Hell as far as the LaVey was conserned, were made up by the churches to control the actions of thier followers. Heven and Hell exist only in mind of the believers, or if they do exist the rules to get into heaven are so muddled and exclusive that it hardly matters anyway, because everyone is going to hell according to someone.

    2. what exactly is Satanism ? and why Satan why not any other God !!??

Satanism is a religion of personal responcibility and knowledge. The Name really doesn't matter, its in part a publisity stunt and in part a way to help people shed thier past dependance on the idea of 'god'. Face it if you want to really make people notice and hopefully get them to think you use a household name.

    3. what will happen to people after death ??

Its really not worth worrying about. Besides how can anyone know what comes after death anyway? Unless you listen to silly stories about resurected god-children or the already christianized "I died in the hospital and came back" people.

    4. I heared that marrying family members is allowed in Satanism ? is this true ??

apart from being illegal in most countries, its genetically stupid. Sounds like propaganda to me. Sex and marrage are two seperate things anyway.

I hate to almost mirror what painted wolf said but it sounds to me like we are very similar in belief, but I do consider myself a Satanist.

I don't believe in Heavan or hell or any other "supernatural" fairy tale lands of any religion that we supposedly go to after death. People generally fear what they don't understand and death is the great unknown so what they do not understand and fear they have to make sense out of no matter how ridiculous the fables are. That fear manifests itself in the creation of elaborate gods/devils and fairy tale lands and whatever else that they need to create and believe in to give themselves some sense of security and an enemy (generally aspects of themselves ) to fight.

IMO, All belief in the afterlife seems to stem from fear, hope, or both- not any real knowledge of what happens after death, none of us have ever spoken to a corpse, no one knows or ever will. To believe or follow a religion and it's precepts whose main reward comes in the hereafter, even when it limits the progress and blinds the person to their animal self, is harmful. These fear based beliefs are an aberration and a practice in self deceit that should be shunned.

"Satanism" as it is popularly called is as individual as the Satanist themselves, there are no "true" bibles, holy books, popes, etc. Lavey, Aquino, and many others are just other human animals with ideas about our existence, but as far as I am concerned none should be "followed" I or you or anyone else is just as qualified to write a "bible" or so called "holy book" as anyone else whether living or dead. Lavey is pretty much the reason most call it "Satanism" yet it could be called just about anything- or nothing.

I've never heard of the marrying of family members, but as I have said before there are no central churches, popes, administrations etc. that could or should have any true control or feel they have a say in what the individual Satanist does and if they tried, they would probably be mocked and shunned anyway and rightfully so. I have to agree with Painted wolf, it sounds just like another "shock" tactic to scare or disgust some people away from it, not much different than the fictional accounts of SRA (Satanic Ritual Abuse) in the 80s and 90s or any other B.S. that has been heaped upon it by the perverse imaginations of the "good" people.

I won't answer the other questions, but I'm a traditional satanist, and Satanism for me is the belief in a god who is often called Satan. The rest, is individual preference.

I don't think they 'practice' it, I think that it is done for the shock value, not that it really shocks anyone anymore; maybe they all feel rebellious to use Satan as a symbol.

First let me clarify that every Satanist is unique to their belief, some do believe in an after life, some don't.

Regarding information based on Satanism, its better to ask a bunch of Satanists instead of one person who claims to "represent" Satanism.

Satan literally means "Opposition", or "Adversary" and derives from the Hebrew and Arabic, "Ha-Satan", and "Shaitan".

To me, it is a philosophy, a way of life essentially. As a Satanist I have learned many things on my quest for knowledge, as some may recognize the Satanic symbol the "Baphomet" which is a composition of words that essentially describe "absorption of knowledge".

Personally, I strive to keep an open mind and compete with anyone willing to contend with me.

But I could go on for pages of what I believe "Satanism" to be.

And not all Satanists view "Satan" as a "God", but tend to stick along the path of autotheism, which is basically "self worship". Its not to a literal extent, but there are a few select rituals that some perform. Its not to draw "supernatural power" rather psychodramatic evolution.

Personally, I am a "pantheist" in terms of my "God" views.

The same thing that happens to everyone else, they return to the earth.

Haha, thats not specific to Satanism, but no one is really stopping it :biglaugh:

I wouldn't say most "metalrockers" don't practice Satanism specifically, thats just what metal is though, freedom from being told what to do, which again isn't specific to Satanism.
