lookin for a simple elbows, beef and spaghetti sauce meal. kind of like goulash but without onions and peppers. any ideas? how can i doctor up the beef. had it over friends house when i was younger but cant replicate it. thanks

I season the ground beef with powdered onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano.

Brown it. Then add tomato sauce, and season similarly, also adding basil, thyme. Summer, simmer, simmer

Good quality beef, fresh tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, spices, a cup of beef stock, and at least half a cup of a decent red Italian wine (e.g., Chianti/Sangiovese or Barolo). Simmer long and pray that the gods do not punish you for your failure to appreciate onions.
