What spirit are they talking about in Acts 23:9?

Here is the verses from top:

Bible Gateway passage: Acts 23:6-9 - King James Version
The answer is there in the scripture itself....

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.”

The argument was between the Pharisees and the Sadducees who had differing beliefs on those things.
You notice it says "both" ? That means that "a spirit or an angel" was one and the same thing.

they would not be speaking of 'holy spirit' as they did believe in God

But as mentioned above, a 'spirit or angel' shows they were talking about heavenly beings.

Remember Paul had claimed to see the resurrected Jesus Christ who spoke to him from the heavens in a vision. Paul would have been telling everyone he met about that incredible experience and the sadducces did not believe in the resurrection....or spirits of that type.
