I want to be 100% open to all members here, There has been some indication from a few members that they feel me Proselyte about Falun Gong. And since it is against the RF rules, it would be very good both to me and to you if you could be fully honest and say if you feel I have been proselyting to the extent that I should be reported for it (feel free to report me)

What I speak of in this forum are and will be about cultivation of Falun Gong, and some see it as proselyting, I have been given advice from one member (i do not give the name in this thread) that maybe another forum more directly related to Falun Gong would be better for me, and I see this as a good advice.

So I put out a poll. feel free to give an honest poll answer :) I don't get offended if it shows the majority feels I been proselyting. then I just need to agree with mods how they see my future in the forum. (mods, please vote too)

-I don't know who you are
- I don't read any of your posts or threads
- I don't know if you are proselytizing about Falun Gong, if other members say you are, or how mods see your future.

No. I usually notice proselyting a mile away. You're fine.

You could preach it in many posts, the possibility of you threatening me or converting me is absolutely 0.

I have no interest in falun gong, and I don't read what you post.

I have no problem with you posting whatever you want.

No problem.

Btw, I've been sanctioned for proselytizing.
So you're doing better than I.

You're doing fine. ;)

It's going to feel a bit weird bringing attention to a belief system that is alien to most members here. (Having been in the same position) you feel like someone creating a lot of noise or being repetitive. Most of the time people will shrug, but occasionally someone will go "wow, I didn't know that" and it feels so worth it. It's a little jarring to stick your neck out and wonder if there are "official procedures" on how best to handle it. You get more comfortable as time goes on.

In terms of the community, think of it like living with other people in a shared space: As long as there is some give-and-take and you are prepared to listen to others, it will probably be ok. The vast majority of the forum's content comes from a pretty stable community of about 200-300 very active and regular members since it started in 2004, so we do get to know each other a bit. (I did try to create a list of members and number of posts they had if your wondering how I know that). We're sort of like an online village with people coming and going, but a core group staying for years on end.

To actually keep debate at a decent level, the forum relies on having a handful of knowledgable members who specialise in one or two belief systems. This helps to check our communities most conformist tendencies and introduce other members to new ideas. Most members will be atheists or Christians, so having a few rogue members create a little bit of chaos brings this place to life.

We need more like you though to bring attention to more unusual belief systems outside most members range of experience. It makes this place more diverse and interesting and raises the standard of debate. So keep up the good work. :)

Comparatively I do not even have a religion, and have been charged with proselytizing wisdom from all the world's religions multiple times.

There needs to be a better policy globally, as clearly people discussing religions means putting forward their beliefs, and if people are going to be offended that people put ideas forward, we might as well not speak as humans.

Personally I'm at the point of giving up speaking to humans, and instead Judgement Day will be by Fire soon, when Betelgeuse goes supernova (Isaiah 13:10).

So comparatively I appreciated you sharing Falun Gong, and have read it with curiosity; though didn't post, as sick of everyone arguing about everything.

We are down near Hell, and it becomes very clear how offended people get when we share spiritual knowledge with them.

I thank you for sharing, and feel that is what a religious debate forum should be about; like we should be able to debate most beliefs we have, even if 80% of posts by western people on here are proselytizing in some way.

In my opinion. :innocent:

OK.

I'll pick up from the other thread...

Only you can speak to your own inner motivations. It certainly appears that your desire is to share a path to salvation and promote / convert people to your world view for their own benefit and your own. That's proselytizing.

If that is not your true intention, then, I'm sorry. I am being 100% honest. But it's not something that I would report to the Mods.

Hmmmm.....parenthetical aside.
I've noticed that those who oppose proselytizing
the most are quite prone to doing it.
