Question for Trump Supporters

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I have a question for Trump supporters, particularly Christians. What would Trump have to do in order for you to not vote for him in 2020? There must be a line that, if crossed, you would no longer vote for him. But what is the line? Apparently numerous allegations of rape did not cross the line. Trump once bragged that he could go on a shooting spree and his supporters would still support him. Would this be enough for you to vote for someone else in 2020? What would it take?

Well if the shooting spree is authorized by Congress , I'm okay with it as it's called sanctioned war.

If you really want to know, what would make me not vote for Trump would be if he ever starts taking away people's freedoms and liberties like the Socialist Democrats are doing right now.

That he become a Democrat.... BTW, allegations are just that--allegations. If you believe everything you hear about any politician you would probably have trouble justifying a vote for anyone.

So there really are no ethical/moral lines he could cross that would make you reconsider your support?

What? Me worry?
No one mentioned him being "charged" with anything, so your pathetic goal post shift fails. Pathetically. You said the only thing that would stop you supporting him was if he became a Democrat. Nothing about him being charged with anything, nothing about his many, MANY breaches, ethical, moral and policy-wise. Just that he become a Democrat. You opened up and admitted you're nothing but a tribalist, and now you're back pedalling. Your convictions are everything that's wrong with contemporary political discourse, and you don't even have the good grace to stand consistently by them. You are supporting an awful human being, and awful politician. Purely out of identity politics. You had an opportunity to make a case for his support, and all you can come up with is the lamest of logical fallacies.

I think where you're having trouble is that you believe most Trump supports support the man. When you finally become 'woke' you'll realize that most of us support the policies. Enjoy your ride...

Absolutely not. See post #23. Just a point, you didn't see this witch hunt nonsense when a Democrat president was openly seducing nineteen year old interns in the Oval Office; even though there 'material' evidence. Hmmmm...

If "well he hasn't actually been charged with a criminal offense" is the BEST you can say about the man, that's pathetic.

I didn't say that and you're putting words in my quotes. It must be hell for you to wake up every morning realizing that no matter how loudly you scream, Trump is and will remain the President of the United States of America.

It's all about tribalism. He's now admitted it, despite the desperate, unconvincing and uncoordinated attempt to backpedal away from the initial statement.

I think it's pretty standard for all our resident Trumpettes. The ones that aren't explicit trolls.

They can't defend Trump, they don't even try. It's all about "side".

The only question I have is if they're conscious that they're supporting Trump for purely fallacious reasons, or if the actually think they're ingroup/outgroup nonsense is actually meaningful or convincing to anyone outside the echo chamber?

I dislike both of the Clinton's about as much as I dislike Trump.
I'm not one to give scum a pass just for sharing a few political views.

Jesus Christ. I have no words. I thought the replies couldn't get more pathetic than @shmogie 's. I was wrong. I'm waiting to hear from some Trump supporters who have a shred of decency, since you apparently don't. I believe there are some morally decent Trump supporters, but apparently they are few and far between.

Yes, but I charged him with quite a few things:

Making false or misleading statements (about 12,000 of them). Are you saying that I am incorrect, and that he has not? I charged him with insulting hundreds of people, and countries. Are you saying that he has not? I charged him with saying, "when you're famous, you can do anything, you can grab them by the *****," are you saying that he has not?

I've no problem with the idea that you will choose your heroes your way, but please be aware that my criteria might be a bit different.

As I've said, I really do not like the man, he gives me serious icks. I am personally persuaded that the United States will (in a very short time, as these things go) deem him to be the very worst President you've ever had. I may be wrong...I've been wrong many times, so that's not strange.

I just wish that all Americans (and all Canadians, and all Australians, and everybody that lives in a democracy) would spend more time thinking about why they are voting for (or against) someone, rather than simply taking sides and striking attitudes.

Well, Monica Lewinsky was of legal age and had consensual sex with Clinton, which I don't have a problem with. HOWEVER, there is some evidence to suggest that Clinton sexually assaulted other women. Whether it is true or not I do not know. I certainly think that the allegations against Clinton should be taken seriously and investigated as well.

Well well you asked.

You got an answer.

It's very cult like; surrendering critical, independent thought (and perhaps their very humanity) to become a blindly loyal automaton. It's downright creepy.

Well, it is kind of like watching loved ones slowly being killed by a malignant tumor; those loved ones being Lady Liberty and Lady Justice. The malignant tumor isn't trump - though he is both a symptom and a vector - but rather willful ignorance and intellectual dishonesty.

Really? I gave you another chance to come up with a scenario in which you wouldn't vote for Trump, but you still failed. The secret service can't control everything a president does or prevent him from committing any crimes. That is asinine. You're just trying to rationalize the fact that you've sold your soul to Trump. Pathetic.
You gave me a chance, oh, how so very kind of you.

You obviously don´t know what the Secret Service is charged with.

Secondary to protection, they are to see that he dosn´t commit some stupid act that will reflect on him, or at least bring it to his attention. They are with him wherever he goes, screen all visitors, and except for the private living quarters, are outside every room. Further, they are federal peace officers.

No, he won´t be raping or shooting anyone. You should have come up with an actual possible scenario, you fail.

So, I sold my soul to Trump, really ? How very Dickensian of you, right out of a 19th century novel.

You haven´t grasped, yet, that my response was based upon who will run against him.

There is no chance in hell that I will vote for any of the democrat plods running. For all his myriad of faults, his policies aren´t based upon the sure destruction of America, as the democrat party envisions.

So, weep, wail and continue trolling, as a good baby democrat should.

The only thing shallower than your words is your thinking ability.
