The Hebrew translation used the word 'helel', St. Jerome replaced the word helel with Lucifer. Helel means ‘shining one’.
Isaiah 14:12: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning?"
Revelation 22:16: "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

The last and first chapter of Revelations are blatant forgeries; in the last chapter he bows in front of the angel again, he has just been told not to in chapter 19. :innocent:

Yes. And “the bright morning star” is also planet Venus.

In the Greek translation Lucifer is “Eosforos” (eos = light + foros = bearer) which is a very direct reference to the planet Venus, also known as “Avgerinos”.

Here in Greece, the morning prayer in church is still called “Avgerinos”.
