Question about magic

Whether they are harmful or not, I don't see how involvement with any magic is walking in the footsteps of the Christ.

In Africa its a way for criminals to advertise. Criminals specialize in doing things surreptitiously, but criminal gangs also need a front. In Africa its no different. A voodun practitioner there is like a lawyer who can also do medicine and assassination and harassment and give advice and inquire about your future and so on...anything you will pay for. Sometimes its a protection racket. You have to get your business blessed, or there will be bad magic. You have to get your family blessed, your goat blessed and so forth.

I don't think dolls can hurt anybody. That being said, if a person really believes that sort of thing then I'm sure that the first time they so much as stump their toe they will blame the object of their superstition.

Can voodoo dolls hurt christians?I am not sure. What do you think? And sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Voodoo/Vodou dolls aren't what they used to be!

Seriously, I'm pointing-up the fact that such dollies (many practitioners call them that} are not all about hurting anyone. That's an urban legend created mainly in films and horror story books.

In many cases, they're used to heal.

EXAMPLE: A person has utterly debilitating migraine headaches. A Voodoo/Vodou or Hoodoo practitioner may make a dolly as a sort of "stand-in" for that suffering person. They may stick a pin in the dollys head, as a form of inserting healing into the real person's head.

Or, the pin may be a "stand-in" for the excruciating migrain. So the practitioner would carefully pull the pin out, as a demonstration of the intent to draw the headache out of the recipient's head.

But to answer your actual question: Christians who are solid in their Faith - just like all sorts of other religionists - have powerful protections available to them inherent in their ideology, scriptures and practices..

So if any cill-intentioned person were to use a dolly to cause harm - and the Christian (or other religionist) takes advantage of those powerful protections, the intended harm wouldn't "penetrate"them - but (and rest assured, because it's how this sort of thing works) all that intended harm's going to "come right back" at the aforementioned ill intentiond person. And they're gonna have a world of suffering for it.

There is faith healing, as well as faith hurting. Both are based on the test subject allowing someone to help them push certain emotional and psychological buttons. These buttons are similar to using command lines to trigger the personality firmware of the brain.

As a medical example of these affects, when new medicines are tested, there is a control group who are given a placebo. A placebo is often a sugar pill, that has no direct medical benefits. However, since nobody knows who gets the new medicine or the placebo, a witch doctor effect will often occur, where those taking the placebo appear to get the benefits of the medicine; mind over matter affect.

If a person was to get better with a placebo, since the placebo is not a real medicine, that means their mind and brain is participating in the healing process. The brain is very powerful and is wired for this. In modern times, you can't make money if people heal themselves so the brain path is downplayed.

Besides placebo medicines; mind over matter, there are also placebo diseases. When the latest sickness fad comes around, and the media hypes it to sell soap, some people will develop the symptoms even without any direct contact; hypochondriacs.

Again, just as the mind can help heal with a placebo, it can also create problems that mimic a condition; placebo sickness. Since this is done by the mind; placebo disease, it may not respond to real medicine. You may need a witch doctor affect, to help set the stage for a placebo medicine affect. This could be a real medicine with some hyping.

Voodoo dolls and such make use of the placebo affect and can use charisma and test proven command lines to trigger a placebo condition. This does require the subject allow the command line to be inserted with fear and faith. You can prevent and counter this with prayer, which is also a type of command line to the brain firmware; self help IT medicine kit.
