Apparently Frank, they don't have the information you are looking for.
Correct me if I am wrong, but you are looking for something that tells you what you want to hear... like how to pray for something the Bible condemns right?

You'll have to look for one of those New Age Movements, if you are fascinated with uncanny powers, and mystery.
However, be aware that you have been warned by several posters here, most of whom are not JWs.

How can praying to God for something(lucid dreaming) be bad?If you pray for only him(God)to do it?

Why must God grant everything you want? How is that good.
    What did John say?
(1 John 5:14) . . .no matter what we ask according to his will, he hears us.

Would God answer our prayer to sleep with someone's married mate, just because we ask him? No Frank.
Our prayers must be according to God's will. Only then will he hear us, and grant it... or even better.

Because Christianity and JW in particular have very specific definitions of what constitutes proper Godly contact.

... Always found that weird myself.

Jesus was thought to be weird. Even his siblings thought so.
(Mark 3:21, 22) 21 But when his relatives heard about it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying: “He has gone out of his mind.” 22 Also, the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying: “He has Beelzebub, and he expels the demons by means of the ruler of the demons.”

But then, isn't Godly devotion supposed to be different from the "norm"?
(1 Peter 4:4) They are puzzled that you do not continue running with them in the same decadent course of debauchery, so they speak abusively of you.

(John 15:18, 19) 18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

We are supposed to be "weird" from the worlds perspective. Otherwise, somthing is not right. :)

Because praying for something personal is a form of egoism. You do not pray fror wisdom how to advance spiritually, it seems like you pray for only one thing to happen, and when it does not happen the way you want it, you ask people for a new way to pray so it can happen anyway.

Hint: it will not happen at all when you pushing for it.

Lucid dreaming isn't an occult practice. It's a neurological thing that has to do with sleep patterns. Sleep paralysis is another. Some people think they are held down by spirits but really it's their brain haven't woken up because of lack of sleep, stress, and other things like that. As for god somehow making lucid dreams happening... that's like asking god if he can make you dream. None of it is against the bible. It's just how your brain works.

The other stuff you mention, outerbody experiences, though, isn't quite JW. But lucid dreaming isn't a occult thing. It's neurological.(PDF) The cognitive neuroscience of lucid dreaming

Even outer body experiences can be neurological.
People Talk About Their Out-Of-Body Experiences

I've had this myself years ago as a person with Epilepsy.

Don't fall into a lot of the occultish things. Many of which have scientific and medical causes. Many JW, though, and christians have superstitious feelings about these things. Don't think too hard about it.

    I read that.
Tell me something though. Let's say just supposing there were aliens that had advanced abilities to tap into the brain, and affect it, but humans had no such abilities.
I don't know if you ever watched V, but how would you know when something was neurological from alien manipulated?

I had to read this three times. or four.

I'll use my seizures as an example for outer body experiences. They had to do MRIs, CAT scans, I had to stay in the hospital for EEGs, etc. I'd tell my doctors my symptoms (which could mirror OBE) and he cross checks them to see if they are medical (or psychological) oriented. I get a couple extra opinions before they put me on meds. And more tests before my surgery.

You're asking how would I know the difference between this and aliens affecting my brain (using me as an example)?

It really isn't a religious thing. It's 100% medical. People thought I had the holy spirit in me cause I had a seizure in front of church members. People still think of these things, but I honestly doubt any doctor would use the bible as criteria for study for any thing like this.

I'm still at a loss, though. I'm asking genuinely (as with all my questions). Do you believe that neurological conditions, studies, and so forth could be caused by demonic (or alien) forces instead of nerve mishaps, tumors, or things of that nature?

I know many have in the past, but...

I don't mean this in a bad way Artist, but I really want to help you to see something.
You read it three or four times, and still missed the point. I believe that you genuinely try to understand people, but I think where you fall down, is in limiting your perspective to only what you see - perhaps in your "box".
As I said, I don't mean it in a bad way. I want you to see.
You miss what I am saying 95% of the time. I'm serious. Even when you think you've got it, you are so off, but sometimes I don't tell you, because I know you try, but you won't get it even when I repeat it in other ways.
So please take this in good spirits. You can do the same for me.

Just leave your box for the time being.
    Forget about what doctors think.
    Forget about what you think.
Live in V for a moment... with a few alternations, as I don't remember it entirely.
It was my favorite serious, before becoming one of JWs.
Also. This is long, for clarity, as most of my posts are. ;)

    We are living among aliens.
    They are way more advanced.
They have the ability, or tech to manipulate, or even control the mind.
The scientist of the time have various theories for why this why that.
One is, they believe all phenomenon can be explained naturally, and by their gadgets, so any strange occurrence, regardless of what it is, they must have an answer - It's the brain. It's the nerves, etc. This, even though they admit they know so little about the most complex organ on earth - the said brain.
They attribute certain things - let's bring it home to you - epileptic seizures, etc. lucid dreaming, sleep epilepsy, etc.
They say these are all answered by "They are neurological disorders."

These experts are suddenly faced with an eye opener.
The aliens have a way of interfering with the brain, which produces the same, or similar effects, they attribute, only to the nervous system.
My question then... How would you, or anyone else know that at the time of one having a lucid dream, or epileptic symptom, it was a neurological disorder?

    I'll answer. You can't.
In fact, let me retract that. You can... 1) if the aliens tell you, or 2) if you develop some tech which allows you to tell the difference.
In the meantime, you are guessing... and you would be quite wrong, if indeed the aliens were using their abilities.

Other than that, you would be doing what all who do not believe are doing... saying, "I do not believe the aliens are responsible for this. It is all natural, and science has the explanation. Anything else is superstition."

Now just consider, a number of people have gained the knowledge that indeed these aliens are responsible.
Those individuals are considered superstitions, and believing in imagined ideas.

I'm saying that this is the situation.
In Jesus' day, when he performed his miracles, some said this...“It is by the ruler of the demons that he expels the demons.”
If you read that account, you would see, that to the inhabitant of the city, what they were witnessing was a new phenomenon.
(Matthew 9:33) . . .Well, the crowds were amazed and said: “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel.. . .

So Jesus was accused of being in a word - possessed. We can say, a madman, under the influence of spirits.
You see, back then, and still today, people believe in wicked spirit - not of the dead (some do), but angels - aliens from another realm.

    So here we are.
JWs, believe what the Bible says - that there are indeed "aliens" - not big-eyed, bighead green men [IMG] - but a life form so advanced, as to make our tech look like a splinter from tree bark, in comparrison. [IMG]
While you don't know of them, nor believe they exist, that does not mean they don't.
So while you call it superstition, it does not mean it is.
I'm not saying you don't have the freedom to believe that you are right. We all have to know for ourselves.

I too can give you my experience.
I used to have many episodes of what they call sleep paralysis - many. They occured during a period of my life.
Was I getting enough sleep? Was I stressed?

The thing is, these episodes suddenly stopped completely - only after I made a deliberate effort to change certain activities in my life. That is pursue spiritual goals, and reduce, and even completely stop most worldly pursuits.
Did my sleep patterns change? Not really. In fact to this day, sometimes I get much less sleep.
Did I become less stressed? Not that I can discern.. and when I do experience stress, the episodes do not return.

I did not come to the conclusion that this had anything to do with spirits, from any changes that occured.
I came to that conclusion when I started having the episode. It was based on my knowledge of the Bible.
What I was learning at the time, helped me to know what was happening to me at the time.
Around the same time, I was seeing shadows, and shadowy figures at night, and that's while I was wide awake. I knew exactly what I was doing. i was not asleep.

These too, ceased abruptly around the same time the other episodes occured, but through all this, my knowledge of the Bible, and what it revealed about spirits, helped me to analyze in a scientific way - through experimentation, which I did things in a deliberate way, to see the result, repeating, observation, and I came to my conclusion.

Was my conclusion peer reviewed? :smirk:
In a way. Others were not in my room carrying out the tests, but their own experiences were in line with the "data". :)

I'm not trying to make this a scientific argument, so don't get me wrong. Because I don't try to fit the supernatural into science. I am just saying, we do science too. It's not only the lab coat fellows that do.

My conclusions could be wrong (What I think may be one thing, may not be), just as conclusions reached by scientist often are, and may be so right now, in this case.
At the end of the day, we choose what we will believe.
At the end of the day, there is only one truth - Either there is a another realm which has super human life forms that interact with our world, or there isn't.
I believe there is. So I think it is wise to be careful.
Can you fault me for that? ;)

    A JW site?
Any JW site that's not connected to jw.org, is not a JW site. It's not officially a JW site.
So how would you know if you are talking to a JW on that site, or Satan himself?

Let me ask before I read this. Are you sure you were making the point to me?

I only asked a question (one post) and you said I missed the point (second post). There were no other posts after that, so maybe it's to the person you were originally speaking with. I just interrupted and asked a question based on what you said. I didn't read the full conversation.

I am sure, Artist. I was responding to the post where you said you had to read the post three or four times, and still you were lost.
I'm not mistaken... That was you, wasn't it?
