I officially believe the jehovah's witness religion.
In job 3:11-19 job says he wishes he would have died at birth. So he would not be going through what he is going through now.But what gets me is job 3:13.Also in Psalms 139:7-8 david says if he would die and make his bed in sheol God would still be there.I am confused.:confused:Sorry if i have posted this before(the part about david). The bible i got this from was the nrsv one.

Why is there confusion? Sheol is the grave....the place where the dead "rest in peace". There is no conscious existence existence in the grave. (Psalm 146:4)
Does God remember the dead? He promises to resurrect them, so of course he does.

Frank, Job and the Psalms are part of the Poetry and Wisdom books of the Bible, they use figurative and poetic language to express emotions and such you don't have to take them literally

    .
you have been brain washed by the poet expert Dr. J. Evans Prichard.

Is the above sentence literal or figuratively written? Do you understand the difference? If I say "no its not literal ya dimwit it's figurative". Does being not literal make it not true? In lala land where accuracy becomes an idol in religions the ability to read figuratively written writing becomes zero due to over intellectualizing.

Are you literally a dimwit? No it was figurative ya dimwit!!

Hope you laughed!!! Now onto real laughter with Robin Williams take on Dr. J. Evans Prichard explained in appropriately named for this thread DEAD POETS SOCIETY!!

Job has just lost everything and has major depression - suicidal.
Psalms is saying sheol is an afterlife.

It just ocurred to me, you missed the context on Job.

Job has just lost EVERYTHING due to a bet between God and Satan.

I took you off ignore to get a look at what is causing the confusion. My advice is to study from a few different Bibles, the KJV being one. I believe the NAS and the Good News Bibles to be nearly worthless. The other issue is that I don't know much about the JW but in my limited exposure, I felt their theology to be straight up nutty. As long as you are in their thrall, you won't see it. For me, it felt like they view God as a vindictive punisher, and they give their clergy more power than is sane. So I won't have anything to do with them, having escaped a couple of other nut case belief systems.

I'd advise you to focus on the words of Jesus Christ and take the rest with a grain of salt.

Sorry, I'm putting you back on ignore because I do not want to listen to JW doctrine.
