The experiment that they are proposing would verify the quantum nature of gravity, not specifically the existence of the graviton. The significance is that it verifies what everyone *expects* to be the case while also giving some actual data about what is going on.

Thank you. I have also heard that it may shed some light on why gravity is such a weak force, compared to the other three forces. It might also indicate the existence of the multiverse Do you think that there is a realistic possibility that we will ever produce enough energy to find it?
