People use to say that the Jews worshipped Satan and ate babies (and perhaps some crazy people still say this).

Now people say Democrats worship Satan and have sex with children.

It seems like the same mindset to me.

No, it is not caused by lack of belief in God or in religion.

I find conspiracy theorists very tiresome, they seem stuck in adolescent narcissism and rebellion.
Perpetual trolls who are probably best ignored.

Were you looking to reinforce your own presumptions and bias, or were you truly looking to learn and understand? There is nothing to gain by hiding in a safe space/echo chamber.

Atheists tend to value logic and evidence, both of which the "Q" nonsense completely lacked. Also, nobody other than christians would believe literal Satan worship to be anything significant or widespread.

LIke I said. Watch and wait -- Qanon will evolve into another crazy doomsday religious cult.

I should be able to choose my influences. I don't think I should be forced into specific kinds of influences that I'm not wanting.

You cared enough to make a thread asking about it.

    Filtered reality is not reality.

All reality is filtered, until we as a species can hear the opinions of every human being on earth. We also have the ability to choose our influences, and for certain topics, I choose different influences.

Well, what you've said, and what others have said here is exactly what I knew you'd say, and that doesn't help me at all.

It does help because it gave you an honest, accurate answer to your question; belief in Qanon isn't the due to a lack of religion but is in fact cut from the same cloth as religion.

So, you only wanted responses that fit with your particular "filters" to ensure you weren't "influenced" by any other groups?

I've got a friend who believes the same. Plus Tom Hanks and Anderson Cooper are also child molesting satanists. Oh, and they also drink baby's blood.

It could be considered narrow-minded. Do you not think exposing yourself to dissenting views might allow you to learn something? Or do you fear the possibility of your mind changing?

But every time I ask an atheist about the truth of religion, or faith, or God I get the same answer. So how could I learn something new, when I already know the answer from that particular POV?

...Can you see how it's pointless?

Why do you keep asking the same question to a group who obviously would all have the same answer? How many different answers would you expect to find if you asked a Muslim the truth of Christianity?

Besides, this thread is about politics, not religion.

This thread is actually about "faith" and "believing"... That's what conspiracy theories are -- faith/belief without evidence.
