PRRI 2022 Census of American Religion: Religious Affiliation Updates and Trends

idea

Question Everything
Neither of those I suspect, what would be the reason bad parenting or church teaching is worse than 50 years ago? I believe it’s general culture leading youth and people in general away from the church.

It's never the church's fault -
Funny, for a religion based on repentance/atonement, the church and church leaders never seem to do any repenting.

I would guess the reason more youth are choosing none, are the brain washing and peer pressure tactics of the political Left religions within Public Schools. It is also the Lefty bias and censorship in Government, Social Media and Colleges. However, many parents and Conservative leaders are now fighting back, so this trend could reverse in the future. Once there is more than one allowed option, young people will experiment both ways.

I was reading an article the other day, about Richard Dawkins, the evolutionary biologist. He is/was the darling of the political Left for his work in Evolution and his stance on religion. He was recently asked about gender and he said, "as a Biologist, the hard data says there are only 2 sexes; male and female.

This drove the political Left, into a tizzy, since he is/was highly respected when he appeared to be one their side, exclusively. This sunshine soldier loyalty, is the attitude the children have to face in schools and culture; go along to get along or else. This two faced messaging could be the beginning of the end for the Lefty religions, and may even create a problem for rational Atheists, if they become science hypocrites to someone who is like their Pope.

Like I have been saying, casino math allow politics to interface and influence the life sciences that use the same casino math. Both use black boxes, which allows any theory to exist, since it is hidden in a black box. All you need is fuzzy dice data. However, since two sexes is a common theme of evolution and needs no black box, this is rational hard science, without the need for casino math; fuzzy dice theory. The rational people, on all sides, have no choice, which can then separate the Left into rational and irrational; house divided cannot stand.

Dawkins declares there are two sexes

More educated = less religious... I wonder why that is?

Truth cannot be hid.

The closer we get to catching up to the other developed nations, we will see our numbers become similar to theirs. The more education one has, the more opportunities in life one has, and religiosity declines. Desperate, fearful and uneducated people are more likely to cling to religion, out of need for security. Fundamentalists hate when a country actually provides well for its citizens because religion isn't needed as a source of comfort. In Europe churches get money so no one proselytizes anymore. It's all about butts with wallets in seats. What a scam. Spirituality is beautiful; religion, depending on which it is, is not.
I think the blessing God gave the usa last century to be the leading developed nation, which no one can deny, is coming to a close, similar to what happened to the British empire after the success of the industrial revolution when God was with them. That’s how it goes when a nation turns it’s collective back on God.

How can the church stop changes in culture change caused by the devil. It’s a nations people making decisions based on this devil driven culture change and turning their back on God and the church.

The US leads only in the negatives. It ranks way below the other developed nations in the positives. God must really love Europe.

Maybe if evangelicals were good people, society would embrace them. People don't want religions that teach hate.

Each year our textbooks are updated with newly discovered information, to correct previously mistaken and incomplete views.

Each year religious organizations should also update their dogma - the earth isn't the center of the universe, dinosaurs lived and died thousands of years ago (eden is not literal), women work and hold the same authority as men, update LGBTQ policies. The younger generation would not leave if the church pulled itself out of the dark ages.

It's not *satan*, it's increased understanding, increased knowledge.

Many aspects of the current culture - ending slavery, increased educational opportunities - much has improved.

By their fruits....

Which groups live the longest? Have the best quality of life? Yes :) follow examples of countries with low poverty, with healthcare, with the best educational systems.

The more they learn, the better they learn, the more likely they are to turn. It's a good thing. Don't be afraid.

The fact people are born intersexual (the old hermaphrodite wording) null and voids that statement.

I think that you meant millions of years ago since a huge number of them died about 65 million years ago.

But don't tell anyone, I am going to have dinosaur tonight. I do have my own stash.

What is everyone's thoughts on rise of the none's?
Expected and good to see.

Agreed. Here are many of the reasons:
  • The appearance of best sellers and the rise of the Internet have given humanists a platform (like RF) and made atheism much more respectable.
  • Removal of the church, state-led prayer, and creationism from public schools.
  • The rising numbers of people self-identifying as atheist or irreligious makes joining them less of a social risk
  • Scandal after scandal has flown by since the rise of the televangelists in the 70's continuing today, right up to the church pedophilia cover up and the failed Palin and Duggar examples of Christian family values. Jim Jones and David Koresh didn't help the church any.
  • The entertainment media mostly depict the church and clergy as hypocritical or ineffectual.
  • People are put off by Christian homophobia and hell theology.
  • People are put off the religious incursion into government and people's freedoms. The Handmaid's Tale look isn't a good one for the church.
  • Science and evolution have made atheism more tenable.
  • People find the church and religion increasingly less relevant in daily life. It doesn't meet their needs.

Prayer? If its deity doesn't intervene, then maybe it is its will that the church become irrelevant in all lives except those of believers. Or, maybe it doesn't exist. It can be difficult to tell the difference when a deity imitates nonexistence and makes itself indistinguishable from it.
I would guess the reason more youth are choosing none, are the brain washing and peer pressure tactics of the political Left religions within Public Schools.
You must mean the absence of church indoctrination in public schools. Losing prayer and creationism was a huge setback for the church, since it lost access to young minds not indoctrinated in their homes by religious parents or brought into a church. And why is so much a political conspiracy to you? Having secular schools like having a secular government isn't a political issue for liberals, although you likely consider the humanist agenda political. If you are a patriotic American who loves the Constitution, you should support such principles whether liberal or conservative, because your Constitution does.

Palaeontologists say dinosaurs are extinct. They say that happened about, roughly 66 million years ago but don’t agree and say how this happened exactly.

It’s another sign the Tribulation is close.
It’s worth reiterating this because of the implications involved and in case people want to think about it some more.

Last time I had brontosaurus ribs was when I crashed the annual meeting of the Society for Universal Creationism Studies (SUCS). They sure do host a fine dinner!

the Lefty religions,
I've not heard of these religions so please can you name them?

No, they don't. I would suggest that you recheck your sources. Most dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. How else could I have dinosaur tonight if they did not all go extinct?

Lol, how long ago was Eden supposed to be? 6,000 years?
