I'm not sure what forum is the best for this topic, but I thought that posting it here would be reasonable. I apologize if something similar already exists. I came across an interesting Gaelic proverb the other day that says, "Even God cannot make two mountains without a valley in between." I've been pondering what that means and thought it would be enlightening to start a thread for posting our favorite proverbs and how we interpret them. I think a good proverb, like this one, makes several points at once. It seems to me that one of these points is that opposites are a packaged deal.
