My bad, I think I'll stay neutral with the Temple but if a solution can be found than I support it 100% & I support Muslim/Jewish relations 1,000%.

I'm a muslim from Saudi Arabia. Man the holy places as they are now were rebuilt some time in the past. And the pillars area is not an exception. I heard they are going to build a second floor, been studying for a while in the US so i'm not sure about it.

The problem really is that many uneducated Muslims come from all over the world, and would do everything in this life time trip. There is a long time to perform the pillar stoning, but people keep forcing themselves to do it during the "preferred time". Its just preferred, not a must. Thats what is killing people.

I thank you for your viewpoint Aldarrak. I had wondered about the "preferred time" aspect, and I am glad to see I understood correctly. Also your points about the current setting having been altered in the past is well taken. Perhaps a history of the site would be somewhat compelling, so that people would understand that the Saudi's are not monsters trying to destroy something sacred.

Dont get me wrong I love the Saudis but I'd say that leaving holy places unchanged is what helps make them so sacred.

but first :

Do you know that the collapse of Mecca in Allah's eyes is much easier and better than seeing one of his slaves "We" being killed or died?

This is a really good point, God concerns about man more than the collapse of Mecca...

The second point, previously, the Ka'ba (which is the most Holy) were distroyed and rebuilt again in the age of prophet Mohammed, before he recieved the duty of prophethood...

This means it's ok to rebuild the Ka'aba, so why are you upset from rebuilding the stampede so that to protect people..

Its true that the Ka'aba was rebuilt all those years ago but its our duty as the next generation to preserve these holy places and keep them as close to their original forms as possible.
