    Matthew 24:14
Clearly Jesus could not have meant, that all the Messianic procephy was going to be fulfilled, in the manner if a short time.

Explanations, if you believe that all the prophecy was fulfilled?

Verse 34 makes it a failed prophecy.

Why? Just because it makes it a failed prophecy is not a valid reason.

People just don't believe the scriptures. Jesus said His Word will not pass away. Heaven and earth will pass away but not His Word.

When Jesus returns every eye will see Him.

Why should it have already been fulfilled?

    vs. 32-33
And from the fig-tree learn ye the simile: When already its branch may have become tender, and the leaves it may put forth, ye know that summer [is] nigh,

so also ye, when ye may see all these, ye know that it is nigh -- at the doors.

The generation that sees the fig tree put forth leaves is the generation that will not pass away right? How are you reading it?

    I am not an athiest.
    I would say that whoever said this, nailed it: 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;

Regardless of the subject matter, for someone to make a prediction like this about what he's writing as he's writing it . . .got to give him credit (unless this was a later interpolation. Don't know enough about Mathew to have an opinion).

I can see that you ignored the verse that gave it a time limit.

No, he is talking to his apostles. They are clearly the generation that will not pass away. How do you twist the scriptures so badly?

How can you say no? You should say that you think the generation that sees the fig leaves is the generation of the apostles. But, Jesus doesn't necessarily mean that. It's just what you are assuming.

It is clear who he is talking to, that is how I can say no. Reinterpreting the Bible because your beliefs would be wrong if you interpreted it as it is written is not a valid reason to do so.

The sign of the fig tree(which is simile) is how we know that prophecy is about to be fulfilled. As long as this has not happened yet; then the generation spoken of is yet to be revealed.

Nope, he was specifically addressing the apostles. Read it again, or I could quote it for you.

a bit like asking me what questions do i have in regards to religion..

I might generally start what is objective exactly. That seems rather muddled in science. Not everyone but most certainly most in science seem a bit confused on that alone. Although that is a problem generally in religion as well. There aleas this half wit invred european galel
i i think maybe starting with the term objective that generally seems muddled in science let alone religion.

Here is a rather profoundley confused quote by someone who could be considered mentally confused at some level today yet famous. Although generally the view below still dominates. Its nonsense but hey...

[The universe] cannot be read until we have learnt the language and become familiar with the characters in which it is written. It is written in mathematical language, and the letters are triangles, circles and other geometrical figures, without which means it is humanly impossible to comprehend a single word.

Of course He was telling them the prophecy. But it does not necessarily follow; that Jesus was addressing them saying it was specifically their generation.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
