Oh, my goodness! I had no idea that this was not an LDS hymn! A lot of the hymns in the LDS hymn book were written by LDS authors. I had assumed this one was, too. (I'm assuming it's a hymn for you, too, and not just a poem. I wonder if we sing it to the same music.)

those are not the correct lyrics of Samuel Medley's I know that my Redemer Lives:

I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living Head.
He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.
He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.
He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.
He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I’ll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.
He lives, all glory to His Name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
I know that my Redeemer lives!

That, is a beautiful song.

He lives salvation to impart
He lives to cleanse my blackened heart
He lives, what joy this sentence brings,
He lives, my everlasting King.
the highlighted portion of this is added by someone and not the proper version of the song. Sorry but, I was actually kind of appauled that someone whould try to change the lyrics to something like that. i had to look it up:

Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, Who is risen from the dead. He is the Word made flesh, God's Living Message to us.

He came to save and teach all peoples- He is the way, the Truth, and the Life, and is seated at the right hand of God, our Father.

Jesus in me
I live by His word; trust in His guidance, and accept His power working in me. He has saved me from sin many times and continually works on renewing my mind.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
JESUS CHRIST IS MY LORD AND SAVIOR!

I know that my Redeemer lives
O what sweet joy this sentence gives
He lives, He lives who once was dead
He lives, my everlasting Head.

He lives, salvation to impart
He lives to cleanse my blackened heart
He lives - what joy this sentence brings!
He lives, my everlasting King!

There are several "versions" of this beautiful hymn. I wasn't trying to be a purist! Hymns evolve over time. Didn't mean to offend anyone!

Jesus Christ is my Lord, my Saviour, my God, Messiah, King, and Rock.

He lives, and because He lives, we too will live.

Just wanted to get a thread where we can profess the one thing (hopefully) that all of us Christians from various backrounds can agree on:

Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

Write it out.... let each letter be a symphony of salvation.... try to post on this thread as often as you can.... daily if you'd like.... and may the love of the Lord bless us all.

Peace in Christ,
Scott

Jesus is my Lord, my Savior, my Refuge and my strength. If I walk with Him, I shall never be afraid of someone or anything else for he protects me from all harm.:cross:
