Then one can be proud that they came out of the closet, that they chose to be who they were openly. Just being gay, I see no cause for pride. Key difference.From what I've heard it's not about being proud of being LGBT, but being proud of overcoming adversity and achieving a community which reaches out and helps eachother to do so. Coming out is an achievement when you're overcoming fear or repercussion from family and community by being publically lgbt.
