What are the only requirements? You must name the type of animal or more specifically the breed!
Other than that, you have to post a picture.

The reason why I created this thread is because I’m thinking about getting a new pet.

I like beagles!

The main reason why I like the beagle is because it is a small companion.

It is cool looking and seems like it would be an awesome pet to have.

They also have a cool howl and seem extremely playful.

Awwwwww. And LOL! about the armored assault beagle. :p

I would so take him out in public like that.

My only pet these days is an 8 inch long alligator lizard named Sid.

I have a bobcat and a few raccoons as neighbors though. And lots of frogs and coyotes.

German Shepard Dogs, hands down. Best damn friend I had growing up, and the best protector I could ever hope for for my family.

Definitely beagles. As for other species and breeds:

Scottish Folds!

...and a little exotic, but foxes would be my ideal pet:

Birds are my favourite animals. They are so cute and clever and interesting.

I has cockatiels for a very long time so they became my favourite breed to have for a pet.

I'm partial to my pit bull/labrador mix. He is the easiest trained dog I have ever encountered. He plays with sticks, walks nicely on a leash, doesn't run away, guards the house, eats anything that falls on the floor, is incredibly loyal, and snuggles. What more could you want in a dog?

LOL, here's another Scottish Fold kitten--set to an industrialized version of Dance of the Sugar Plum Faerie! :D

The two significant living organisms in my life are a Dutch shepherd and a Venus flytrap, or in its scientific name: Dionaea muscipula. A carnivorous plant.
Neither of which are simple as pets.

A Dutch shepherd:

Venus flytrap (probably not what you had in mind when you said 'pet'):

I would take a bobcat or a lynx as a pet.

I got a poodle, dalmatian, and a papa-poo (papillon-poodle). I love them all. Dogs! Dogs! Yes, I love dogs!

If I was allowed to do attachments, I would post some pictures.
