I see what you are saying. I could see how it could be a challenge at times to keep an audience involved with the message, however, it is a part of worship that is commanded in scripture. Having a portion of God's word spoken within worship was done during worship of the early church Acts 2:42. You say it is a distraction. May ask what it is a distraction from?
Devoting ones self to the apostles teaching. Context Acts 2. "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Seems pretty clear that this is not a call to sit through endless lectures.

Do you use the Jehovah Witness's translation? So you do not believe in the eternality of Christ? If not, why is that?

I assume by eternality you mean do I disagree with the Bible that Christ was created? I don't believe in the eternality of Christ because it isn't supported by scripture.

Hi guys. I am just asking what denomination you attend. No the specific place, but he specific type of church you attend(ex. baptist, catholic, methodist, etc.)
No church membership, however, I attend the Catholic Mass very infrequently (I hold Unitarian beliefs, expressed by James Freeman and Theophilus Lindsey, among the others). I official the left the Roman Church some years ago.

Benjamin Franklin is recorded as attending Unitarian services in Ashford and Tenterden Kent when in England.
I used to live only a few hundred yards from their Tenterden church.
Unitarian Old Meeting House
The Non Subscribing Presbyterians of Ireland are also Unitarian
This is one such church that was founded in 1838 in partnership with my great great grandfather (John Andrews 1792-1864) and on his land in 1838 and still going strong.

What makes you think that the eternality of Christ isn't supported by scriptures?

Have you any idea who Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, meaning he has no beginning nor end.
Who do you think this is?

When and where I grew up, the thread topic was the equivalent of 'What religion are you?' Anything outside of Christianity was a foreign concept. My how times have changed. Not everywhere yet, but that will come.

Is it not concerning that much of the Jehovah witness doctrine is counter to what the Bible actually states?

You think so? Let's discuss them, one at a time.

Of corse if the NWT is used, then perhaps some are supported....

We use all translations; using many and of course context provide a more rounded-out view of the author's intent / meaning.

....but as far as the kingdom being established in 1917, salvation, and others, these all can be clearly disproven within the use of the NWT.

Well, we can discuss these things. FYI, we believe the date of the Kingdom being established was 1914, not 1917.

Which topic would you like to begin with?

What made you choose that path? What exactly does Abrahamic Religionist mean? My guess would be a mixture of Christianity, Muslim, and Jewish. I just can not see how these all coexist to make one religion.

Choose? There is no choose. I left Fundy Christianity because of their violation of the very words of Jesus the Christ. It seemed clear to me that the Jesus they worshipped was plastic. Islam has problems, but I still love the modesty and absolute devotion to Allah SWT. Judaism's firm orientation to rules is not understandable to me, but I do not criticize them. I could not satisfy them.

It seems clear that the origin of the worship of a single deity originated with primitive Judaism or perhaps Zoroastrianism? I "seem" to be moving toward a belief that Science and a belief in God are inextricably intertwined, but make no demands on anyone. You must find this path on your own.

There are some groups that do not speak the truth about God. I wish they would go their way in peace, but they seem to feel entitled to persecute those who do not agree with them. I'm not allowed to identify them. Likely to be banned because I am not backing down.

Our beliefs only run counter to what Christendom teaches....but it is fully aligned with the Bible. You are welcome to test me out on that.

It was never my intention to have anything to do with Jehovah's Witnesses because, like you, I had heard all the negative talk about them, but when I lost my father at a young age, (52) very suddenly, I wanted answers. Why was a good family man taken, while the worst husbands and fathers were still drawing breath?! It didn't make sense.

I asked many ministers of different faiths why.....but no one could tell me why God had taken my Dad. I heard all the platitudes, but nothing from the Bible that gave me any comfort. Was he in heaven as miserable as we were by this sudden separation? Was he suffering in hell? That is what bothered me more than anything.....did God give us our family members to love, only to have them taken away with so much grieving and unanswered questions to follow? I lost faith in the church and resolved never to go back. I had so many questions and the church's lack of scriptural answers just made me angry. Why didn't they know?

JW's knocked on my door some time later, and just because I was angry at religion, (I never got angry at God and I always respected the Bible) I asked (rather sarcastically) the same question of them that I had asked of many others......"Where are the dead?" I was expecting them to give the same pathetic response as everyone else so I could send them off, but they simply opened their Bible and showed me Ecclesiastes 9:5; 10. It changed my life.

More questions followed and the Bible was used to answer all of them. There was no NWT back then, so they got me to read the scriptures in my own KJV. It was the only Bible I used back then.

I felt comfort for the first time. My father was not pining away like we were....he was just asleep. (Like Lazarus. John 11:11-14) He was not aware of our grief and he would live again by means of a resurrection....not to heaven, but right back here to the earth to be reunited with his family. (John 5:28-29) This is where God put humankind. It was never meant to be a training ground for heaven, or a place to earn torture in hell. This is not a Bible teaching....it is Christendom's sad misinterpretation of scripture.

Of corse if the NWT is used, then perhaps some are supported, but as far as the kingdom being established in 1917, salvation, and others, these all can be clearly disproven within the use of the NWT.

Have you ever really checked it out, or are you just going by what others have told you? Please remember that not many of the Jews believed that Jesus was the Messiah. Why did that nation not respond to the proofs that he gave them from their own scripture? The Pharisees lied about him....why? Because he exposed them as the worst hypocrites in existence. He already knew that they were incorrigible because his Father did not send him to the religious leaders, (who had already proven to be neglectful shepherds) but to "the lost sheep" who had been ignored and condemned by them. They accused him of hanging out with sinners. He knew why, but they had no idea.

Our calculation of 1914 (not 1917) as being the year of Christ's enthronement as king (Daniel 7:13-14) was made using Daniel's prophesy which was the same calculation used by the Jews when anticipating the arrival of their Messiah the first time.

His "parousia" (his "presence" not his "coming") is supported by scripture and all of the physical signs that Jesus gave in Matthew 24:3-14. We know the beginning of the"last days" but not when they end. (Matthew 24:37-39)

Happy to take this conversation further if you want.....

Absolutely.

Enemies and opponents of Baha’is have tried to do their utmost to destroy the unity of the Baha’i Faith and seize it for themselves but have never succeeded and failed dismally.

There is only one Baha’i Faith and one global Baha’i community encompassing the entire globe in over 100,000 areas and hundreds of nations with holy places, temples and a world centre in Israel.

You need more than just a website to call yourself a religion.

The Baha'i faith must be one of the smallest in the UK having only 7000 members.
As yet I have never met one, nor seen one of their places of worship.

Yes we are small at the moment but our religion is only 175 years old. There are Baha’i Houses of Worship in every continent and there will be one in the UK one day too.
