Not only muslims shouldn't eat pork.
Facts about pork

THE pig or swine is a very popular food item with most Christians. Yet Christians are unaware that the God they profess to believe in had condemned the eating of swine's flesh. The condemnation was based on some very sound biological principles. Here are some facts on pork that prove it to be a very unhealthy food to eat:

• A pig is a real garbage gut. It will eat anything including urine, excrement, dirt, decaying animal flesh, maggots, or decaying vegetables. They will even eat the cancerous growths off other pigs or animals.
• The meat and fat of a pig absorbs toxins like a sponge. Their meat can be 30 times more toxic than beef or venison.
• When eating beef or venison, it takes 8 to 9 hours to digest the meat so what little toxins are in the meat are slowly put into our system and can be filtered by the liver. But when pork is eaten, it takes only 4 hours to digest the meat. We thus get a much higher level of toxins within a shorter time.
• Unlike other mammals, a pig does not sweat or perspire. Perspiration is a means by which toxins are removed from the body. Since a pig does not sweat, the toxins remain within its body and in the meat.
• Pigs and swine are so poisonous that you can hardly kill them with strychnine or other poisons.
• Farmers will often pen up pigs within a rattlesnake nest because the pigs will eat the snakes, and if bitten they will not be harmed by the venom.
• When a pig is butchered, worms and insects take to its flesh sooner and faster than to other animal's flesh. In a few days the swine flesh is full of worms.
• Swine and pigs have over a dozen parasites within them, such as tapeworms, flukes, worms, and trichinae. There is no safe temperature at which pork can be cooked to ensure that all these parasites, their cysts, and eggs will be killed.
• Pig meat has twice as much fat as beef. A 3 oz T bone steak contains 8.5 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork chop contains 18 grams of fat. A 3 oz beef rib has 11.1 grams of fat; a 3 oz pork spare rib has 23.2 grams of fat.
• Cows have a complex digestive system, having four stomachs. It thus takes over 24 hours to digest their vegetarian diet causing its food to be purified of toxins. In contrast, the swine's one stomach takes only about 4 hours to digest its foul diet, turning its toxic food into flesh.
• The swine carries about 30 diseases which can be easily passed to humans. This is why God commanded that we are not even to touch their carcase (Leviticus 11:8).
• The trichinae worm of the swine is microscopically small, and once ingested can lodge itself in our intestines, muscles, spinal cord or the brain. This results in the disease trichinosis. The symptoms are sometimes lacking, but when present they are mistaken for other diseases, such as typhoid, arthritis, rheumatism, gastritis, MS, meningitis, gall bladder trouble, or acute alcoholism.
• The pig is so poisonous and filthy, that nature had to prepare him a sewer line or canal running down each leg with an outlet in the bottom of the foot. Out of this hole oozes pus and filth his body cannot pass into its system fast enough. Some of this pus gets into the meat of the pig.
There are other reasons grounded in biological facts that could be listed to show why pigs and swine should not be eaten. But a true Christian should only need one reason why not to eat this type of food because God prohibited it.
"And the swine, because it divides the hoof, yet does not chew the cud, it is unclean unto you: you shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." - Leviticus 11:7,8; Deuteronomy 14:8
Those who say Christ abolished the law condemning pork are motivated by their stomach not Scripture. The problems with pork are biological, and Christ never changed the laws of biology.

Safe pork is one of the many luxuries available when you don't live in a developing country. Allow me to introduce you to one of the wonders of creation

These are pork ribs. Slathered in barbecue sauce is the only way to eat them.

God's gift to mankind. It's called bacon. You can put it on just about anything. Even desserts.

A holiday favorite. These are best when basted in a honey IMO.

I can promise you that you could spend a lifetime eating these foods and the only thing you might have to worry about is clogged arteries

• Doesn't really matter when you consider that, these days, the meat industry feeds almost all of their livestock the same slop (and what you describe above is a fair description for it).

Only the fat absorbs toxins. And the fat of a cattle is just as toxin-absorbent as a pigs: fat is fat.

It's actually the exact opposite: the longer it takes to digest something the longer the toxic matter stays in our systems. And I'm not sure that we actually digest pork faster than other meats. Do you have a source?

Actually, pigs do sweat, just not very much, but then the same is true of cattle. Heat Stress In Beef Cattle | Iowa State University

Pigs aren't particularly resistant to strychnine or other poisons. Guinea pigs are, but they aren't pigs.

This is probably because of their fat, not any natural resistance to the actual venom:
And even if this is true, all that means is that the pigs flesh is more attractive to scavengers.

All I have time for atm, but so far you're source is scoring a zero.

When did Jesus say "thou shalt not eat pork"?

If you're going from the Old Testament, that's the Jewish part of the bible.

Christians believe God declared all foods clean in Acts

Acts:10
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

You need the Old Testament to have the prophecy of Jesus.

What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'" - Matthew 15:11

Christians can eat whatever they want as long as it doesn't leads to the suffering of their brothers and sisters (Romans 14:15). By this logic, Christians shouldn't eat meat as the meat industry causes further starvation throughout the world.

Pork isn't less healthy than beef nowadays, though.

Matthew 5:17-20:
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

These restrictions made sense for desert societies who lacked the fuel needed to cook meat thoroughly. Other societies have had lots of fuel and done fine with pork.

You lot should stop trying to foist your taboos onto other people.

Mmm, crab wrapped in bacon.

It's okay, because they cancel each other out.

Seriously, though. Should we be heeding the advice of an ancient, primitive culture that stoned people to death for wearing mixed fabrics, rotating crops, working on the sabbath and for speaking to menstruating women, and who also subjugated women, condoned slavery and the beating disobedient slaves, and even sold their own daughters into sexual slavery?

No. No, we should not. The modern, civilized world has no use for such irrational, arbitrary superstitions.

Therefore, in conclusion, go forth and feast on delicious pig flesh.

Ah, you have not heard of Toxoplasma then. It's okay, practically no one is aware of it. That's why 60% of pork-eating Americans have it. It's pretty harmless until you get older or develop an illness. In a way, the Toxoplasmosis then becomes like AIDS, preventing your body from fully recovering.

Why not eat flies too? Why are flies off the menu? If you'll eat one animal that dines on feces, why not another? I imagine they have a nice crunch!

And why not eat human flesh too? Why is human flesh off the menu anyway? Because it would be murder? How about eating a freshly deceased corpse then. What's the problem? Too much cultural taboo? Why should you be worried about some society's Taboos when it comes to recycling the dead? Don't you all realize how much starvation could be avoided if you'd all stop burning and burying hundreds of pounds of perfectly good meat? Why not?

Do you have any idea how many fly ribs it takes to make a decent meal?

Nah, you'd eat them whole like those little birds in France that cost $100 a piece.

Think about how fast they grow and develop. One fly farm could develop tons of fresh fly meat at such a low cost. The feeding would be so cheap. You simply use the fly room instead of the bathroom, and boom, no extra costs! It would even reduce your water bill.

I think someone's being a little ostrich-like here.

So why not eat flies? Please explain. Why will you eat one creature who feasts on feces but not another?

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that it has to do with texture, taste and availability. There's nothing about eating pork that is more unhealthy than eating beef. Neither is very healthy in larger quantities (that is, the quantities that are consumed in most of the world), though.
