I'm just curious as to who among you has clicked on a banner ad or any other ad on RF, and who among you has proceeded to purchase something as a result of seeing and/or clicking the ad.

If you have made multiple purchases, please note this below.

Yes, I've click on ads, and I like to buy lots of stuff. However, I'm not sure if any particular ad is the sole reason for me buying the advertised item.

I have full Adblocker on every browser I use on my laptop so I do not see the ads here.

I like to customize my ads a bit. One does not need to buy anything to do that. Though one does have to keep going back to sources that one has already looked at.

Does anybody else get spammed with emails for viagra. Does this have anything to do with me looking at internet porn?

It could be connected. That plus sites that give away your age by looking at them. Plus, have you ever looked at sites selling that drug? No answer needed.

I’ve never clicked on an ad and never made a purchase. I do have ad block but went mad and bought a life time premium account on RF when there was discount so I am ad free!

Within the last few minutes of this post, I've received RF ads for IKEA furniture, Home Depot, and Walmart. The IKEA furniture ad reminded me of how I need to go there and buy a new recliner chair.

This product looks very cozy and comfortable.

Interesting. Which web browser is supported by God?
There are no ads at all on my screen right now. There never is when I use this sight. If that's God's doing, then I'm very grateful. If it's Adblocker, I'm still grateful. If this sight pasted me with ads I would no longer participate, here. I hate them that much.

You left off one option -
  • don't see ads because of ponying up some cash to be a paying member

I used to use an adblocker here (still do for all the internet) but I have joined so don't see any adverts anyway. I block all ads on principle, even muting all TV ads (and trailers), since I just don't want the intrusions. If they won't let me see anything without also seeing the ads then I move on and don't go back to such sites. Their business to place the ads, my business to accept or reject them. I also use blockers to avoid being tracked - just to keep them from bothering me.

I've never clicked on adds, and only paid enough attention to become irate when they are intrusive. So, I use ABP, and I must ask "what adds?"

Now this I disagree with. On many sites I do use ABP, but I use and enjoy this site heavily and want to support it, but I am to cheap to buy a membership. So I let the ads run and as occasionally "change them". Do you like male or female eye candy? Look at a series of swimsuit and lingerie ads of your choice. Like tech products? Go to various tech sites and look at their wares. You can guide the ads to see what you want to see by looking at what you like to see if you get just a little creative. And you support the site at the same time.

And one note, I have been on sites where I have to turn on ABP because the ads are so intrusive. I have not found that to be the case here.

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
I resent all ads, but I accept them as a means to not paying upfront for social media.
