Yes this is his most famous, and often tops UK surveys for the most-liked poem, no doubt because it seems to get taught quite often for the purpose of moral improvement in schools. And it contains a lot of truth, certainly. I find it rather poignant, bearing in mind the death of Kipling's son in the First World War, from which I gather he never really recovered.
