Hi RF

I'd like some advice please:

I have decided to give my life an aim, a purpose

For too long now I haven’t had one…

I do now:

My new purpose is to spread the idea that we are all virtual beings living in a computer simulation to as many people as possible - to spread sim theory to the best of my abilities

This would be the obvious thing for me to do, as a person who believes The Simulation communicates with them (as I do)

Basically: I aim to “red pill” Planet Earth as much as possible, and make doing so my life’s work

I don’t expect a very high success rate and I expect to encounter plenty of derision, but over time and via the butterfly effect I hope that my few slight actions will have many huge consequences

But I believe I am a small part of a much larger event, in which the true nature of reality will be revealed to the people of Earth

This would be done as a “soft disclosure” - a gradual and limited exposure of the truth, in drips and drops here and there - rather than all at once, in one place

I believe The Matrix films are part of this plan, to 1) put the idea of a simulated reality out there, but 2) for people to disregard it as fanciful fiction - for the time being. I believe I am a part of the same plan

Does anyone have any advice as to how best I may do this?

I’m not asking you to believe me, or get on board with me

I’m just looking for ideas, that’s all

So please, humour me - what should I do to red-pill Planet Earth?

Any ideas as to how I might go about doing so?

Thanks! :)

Write letters to the editor or comment on articles in religious, theoretical physics and popular scientific journals.

Write your own book, screenplay, or comic book which contains the themes which would lead the reader towards your intended message.

Honestly, you are part of a wider trend that seems to have gained traction over the years. This is probably part of the "post-truth" movement in society in which we are questioning not simply the media and scientific knowledge but also reality itself. (Reality is so depressing so who could blame you really? :D ) So you are not alone in thinking this way which may be a pleasant surprise. :) Here's a video of Billionaire Elon Musk discussing the topic. You can probably find others, but I expect his name will come up quite a bit.

You're probably welcome to use the New Religious Movements DIR on the forums so you have a "safe space" to talk it through (it is largely dead, but perhaps you may find someone to talk to who you can share it with). If you find a few members of the forums who share that view, you could contact the staff in site-feedback to see if they would set you up a specialised DIR (you will need to get more specific on what this is so they can ensure the right people use it).

It would be worth investigating "Matrixism" which is a real thing by the way. See if you can find an existing online community for it. There is a group on Reddit called r/AWLIAS (Are we living in a simulation? 7.9k members) and r/SimulationTheory (8.8k members).

In Marxist accounts, there is some reason to believe that the belief the world is a computer simulation is an upgraded version of the philosophy of George Berkeley or "immaterialism" or "subjective idealism" (he was trying to find ways to prove the existence of god as the creator of the universe by saying matter and reality are an illusion). You could have a read up on that and there do appear to be some of his works available on Archive.org.

The computer simulation idea is arguably a modern addition to reinvent the same idea for a technological age and make it accessible for modern audiences. Questioning the nature of reality has come up a great deal in science fiction (The Matrix, The Thirteenth Floor, Inception on the similar theme of shared dreaming, and an episode of doctor who: Extremis Series 10, Episode 6).

And the two most important things: have fun and don't get yourself killed. No trying to dodge bullets please! We don't want your computer simulated corpse in a computer simulated grave anytime soon, ok? ;)

Otherwise, Best of Luck and Happy New Year.

Edit:
....And here is a debate from 2016 on the topic I found on Youtube. ;)

I think that was Meister Eckhart who said: "those who know the truth know that I am saying the truth"

Any ideas as to how I might go about doing so?

I think you need to be clear about what you mean by a simulation. Contrast that with how you think things would be if you were wrong, which will indicate what it is that you mean and why you think it is so. What's the evidence you have available. For example, quantum entanglement and instantaneous action (quantum wave collapse of a pair of subatomic particles after one is observed) at a distance suggest that there is some funny business underlying reality. Are these particles actually the same particle in any alternate construct of reality?

Also, provide a reason why people should care - what difference it makes to them if things are as you think they are rather than something else. You may be familiar with Descarte's hypothesized demon (called that because Descarte thinks of such a creature as malicious and perverse, but we don't need to assume that) who is controlling our conscious experience without there being any reality outside of conscious experience except perhaps this demon. The point is that we have no way of ruling this possibility out, since we can never step outside of our consciousness or directly experience anything without it, including whatever may lay beyond it.

My point is that even if I knew for a fact that that were the case, so what? What are you going to do differently. How would today be different with that knowledge than without it? We've learned many of the rules for navigating life as we experience it, and if those rules still hold after acquiring that knowledge, nothing changes. One would still drink when thirsty and put on a coat when cold.

Hope that's helpful

Why worry? If your red-pill system is already programmed in, it will activate. If not...........

Hello Eddi,

in the matrix, have you ever thought what made neil strong? It was his beloved girlfriend...she carries ‘The Code’...that made Neil believe. What was her ‘Name’?

to many people think of it that it’s just a movie, but I tell you that the matrix shows exactly the life we all live as.

They did that 20 years ago and called it the Matrix. And the movie was great. Most of the world was very aware then and now its a work of fiction.

You are right. There are many gadgets and computers in life. We forget about the eternal and that computers can not replace the person as a whole. My father was always fond of wood carving. It was his hobby. No computer can do such amazing work. They won't have a soul

Do you have a hobby? you can turn your hobby into your business and income. I worked in the office for a long time. Nou was a hobby. I liked to sew. Now I have my own atelier. I gave up office, computers and printers and other office equipment. I enjoy my work. Opening your studio was not expensive. It's a room, a technique, a table. The main thing is high-quality sewing machines. I was helped in choosing the best industrial sewing machine review on Best Industrial Sewing Machine (Dec. 2019) - Reviews & Buying Guide make my choice. It's cool when you do what you like.
