"Pittsburgh Jews: Trump is 'Not Welcome' Here Until He Rejects White Nationalism"

"Jewish leaders in Pittsburgh say Donald Trump is “not welcome” in the city until he formally denounces white nationalism.

The Jewish leaders said they had gratitude for first responders, but added that they feared Trump’s words and policies “have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement.” They also stated that the violence was “the direct culmination” of his influence.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you fully denounce white nationalism.

Our Jewish community is not the only group you have targeted. You have also deliberately undermined the safety of people of color, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities. Yesterday’s massacre is not the first act of terror you incited against a minority group in our country.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you stop targeting and endangering all minorities.
Specifically, the group zeroed in on refugee policies, pointing out that the shooter opposed refugee assistance.

The murderer’s last public statement invoked the compassionate work of the Jewish refugee service HIAS at the end of a week in which you spread lies and sowed fear about migrant families in Central America. He killed Jews in order to undermine the efforts of all those who find shared humanity with immigrants and refugees.

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you cease your assault on immigrants and refugees.

The Torah teaches that every human being is made b’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God. This means all of us.

In our neighbors, Americans, and people worldwide who have reached out to give our community strength, there we find the image of God. While we cannot speak for all Pittsburghers, or even all Jewish Pittsburghers, we know we speak for a diverse and unified group when we say:

President Trump, you are not welcome in Pittsburgh until you commit yourself to compassionate, democratic policies that recognize the dignity of all of us.
Trump has tepidly condemned the attack as “evil” and “anti-Semitic,” but he also suggested the damage could have been prevented if the temple had armed guards. In reality, the best case scenario would simply cause the shooter to choose another target. Worst case, it could double the number of bullets flying, increasing the damage sustained.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway didn’t even point to anti-Semitism as the cause, blaming “anti-religiosity” in general (as if late-night comedians and critics of religion and faith-based hypocrisy led to this massacre).

This isn’t the first time Jews have spoken out against Trump for his ties to white nationalism. He’s also known for saying there was “blame on both sides” at a fatal Unite the Right rally in 2017 during which the right-wing marchers declared, “Jews will not replace us.”

So, think Trump will do it, formally denounces white nationalism?

Consider; There are about 4.2 million American adults who say they are Jewish by religion, representing 1.8% of the U.S. adult population.

However, most of don't like Trump as is and would never vote for him. (In January his approval rating with Jews dipped to 26%, or about 1 million Jews)* So as I see it, Trump has very little to gain by denouncing white nationalism, and if he did he'd alienate a very large number of his current supporters. So I don't see him ever formally denouncing white nationalism. Or informally, for that matter.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Wonder what Brother Nathanael has to say about it?

I'd like to see the Pittsburgh Community denounce Jewish Zionism first.

How the hell has he incited hatred against Jews when he is cozy with Netanyahu (thanks to his son in law's family's rather rabid Zionism and personal relationship with Bibi) and his daughter and grandchildren are Jewish? You can't have it both ways. Either Trump is another "ZOG puppet" (like the white nationalists say) or he's a Jew hater (like the people here say).

it was from this group
Bend the Arc is uniting progressive Jewish voices across America to fight for * justice for all.
which does not represent huge groups of American Jewry. By leading this (the article and this thread) with "Pittsburgh Jews" and no clarification, it appears that there is some sort of monolithic Jewish voice that is united in rejecting the president's presence. That is not the case.
Yes it sounds as if there is a united front where all the Jews in Pittsburg are some sort of 5th column living together with cult leaders.

Yep, and I think the shooter posted on social media that Trump was a globalist and not a Nationalist and that he surrounded himself with "kikes". It's getting closer to midterms for sure.

He probably doesn't hate Jews, but he loves the votes of those that do, hense his reluctance to completely distance himself.

I would think Trump is especially not welcome during the time the dead are being buried.
Its not that Trump has any hatred towards Jews, but this twisted gunman bought into his hatred for immigrants and related this to the Hebrew Immigration Assistance Society.

The Democrats are always too willing to falsely accuse people before getting all the facts. The Democrats are like a busy body gossip monger who likes to make trouble. They will be punished in the midterms in hopes they turn over a new leaf.

Trump does not hate immigrants. He believes in the rule of law and openly accepts legal immigration. The US still allows more legal immigration that any other country.

The left seems to have a hard time differentiating between legal and illegal. It could be due to their philosophy of the ends justify the means. This philosophy caused the Obama Administration, the DNC and Hillary to break a wide range of laws, during the 2016 election season, that made Watergate look like a stroll in the park. Fake news has done a good job avoiding these issues.

The ends; Hillary Presidency, justified illegal means, until the wrong ends happened, which was Trump was elected. If the RNC holds or gains in the midterms, the end is near for the Democrat party leadership. The DNC crimes will finally reach the national spotlight and will take down a lot of criminal democrats. The Democrat leadership is fighting dirty to stay out of jail.

Trump is ignorant of the rule of law and corrupts it.

Only from white Europeans.

You're looking in the mirror and transferring Trump atrocities to the Dems.
And you claim to be Catholic? Confusion as to church teaching?

And you seriously believe that Trump pays any attention to what is fact vs what is self servient fiction.

"And then I said to myself, ‘I remembered Dick Russell, a friend of mine, great guy, he headed up the New York Stock Exchange on September 11th, and the New York Stock Exchange was open the following day.’Another of his many false claims. The Exchange was closed from 9] 10 through 9, 17.

"if the synagogue had armed "protection inside, the results would have been far better"

As your linked article reads, the only one welcoming Trump is Rabbi Jeffrey Myers.

.
Of course Rabbi Myers isn’t the only one welcoming him, he is just the only one mentioned in the article. More significantly he is the Rabbi of the very congregation where the shooting happened and speaks on behalf of the congregation.

Considering that Trump's daughter and son in law are Orthodox Jews...

Trump may be a buffoon but trying to implicate responsibility onto him for this is frankly asinine. No one 'buys' into Neo-Nazism because of Trump. Heck, the perpetrator even stated that he despised Trump as a globalist shill.
