some believe its either pitch forks or taxes. that an imbalance between the extremes of poor and ultra rich ultimately leads to a correction of the imbalance. that there should be more of the middle, or neither to the left or right but straight and narrow is the way. or as was written on the portal at delph, "Nothing to excess"

what ya think?

a reckoning is coming?

Millionaires Against Pitchforks

100+ ultra-rich people warn fellow elites in open letter: "It's taxes or pitchforks"

Perhaps, but the problem is there is no guarantee that higher taxes will bring about balance.

Higher taxes just means more money for the government. Doesn't mean the government will use the money wisely
The problem with imbalance starts with government. If they can focus the ire of the people on the rich and get more money for themselves in the process it's a win, win for the politicians.

Bill Gates has given almost $50 billion to charities.
I suspect the politicians would have preferred to spend that money on their pet projects.

Greed has no innate self-limitation. It will not reign itself in even when it becomes apparent that it will destroy everything that it's accumulated, and even the accumulators, themselves. It's a force that abhors balance and that cannot stand un-countered in a universe that requires balance, to exist. So the more it pursues the extreme, the more inevitable the counter-action becomes.

shifting the money elsewhere and not to the poor isn't going to allay the pitchforks.

look at both the french and russian revelution. look at your nomadic tribes in respect to your agrarian cultures. when an animal, the beast, is backed into the corner, it will fight; especially when it has been pushed to the point of starvation.

you can't serve power and love.

Sure, but as long as you can provide a scapegoat.
