It is a wise move, you are forgetting that her voting base are not Trump supporters. she is a Dem, and the Left has become frustrated with a Rep. Guess what lady? The SotU is necessary per the Constitution.
Show America an the world what you are if you actually keep to this promise.
All Donald Trump has to do is hold a rally in DC, forbidding Democrats entry, unlike what would happen in the chamber, and broadcast his SotU that way.

Trump didn't try to bully Pelosi to give him money for the wall. Pelosi isn't in charge of giving money for the wall. We're not a monarchy, nor is one person, as in Pelosi in this context, in charge of government spending.

Pelosi and her boy Chuck stated first off when in the meeting Trump called to discuss the wall that there would be no compromise concerning the funding. None.

That's the issue Trump wanted to discuss and is why he called the private meeting. Why would he waste his time when two stern obstructionists intent on governing from their position of authority through extortion inform him he's wasting his time with that meeting?

"Sadly, given the security concerns and unless the government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for your to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to Congress on January 29th," Pelosi wrote.

Until Nielsen's tweet in response to Pelosi's letter, the Trump administration had not responded to it formally.

However, a senior law enforcement official told NBC News that the Secret Service is fully ready to offer full protection for attendees at the State of the Union address despite the shutdown.

"It's a no-fail mission," the official said. "We've been planning for this for months, as we always do. It didn't start up 29 days ago."

Although Secret Service personnel are not being paid, the intelligence and protection functions of the agency are fully staffed.

The invitation to address a joint session of Congress is technically a House resolution that sets aside a day and time for the president to come to the Capitol and address a joint session of Congress.

A joint session of Congress means both the members of the House of Representatives and the members of the Senate are together in one chamber to hear a speaker.

Because the speech involves a joint session, both the House and the Senate must pass resolutions to OK the joint session.

The passing of the resolutions, in essence, constitutes an invitation from both the speaker of the House and the Senate majority leader for the president to appear before both chambers of Congress.

So far, neither the House nor the Senate has passed such a resolution that invites the president to give the State of the Union address on Jan. 29.

Until 1913, presidents submitted reports to Congress. In 1913, Woodrow Wilson broke with that tradition and began giving a public address. Since then, the address has been a yearly occurrence, usually in January, that is given before a joint session of Congress and is televised.
