The New Testament has a lot of ideas. Sometimes, things seem literal, sometimes they seem like a mix of literal, and general teachings. If we note a 'contradiction', is this, indicative of an overall problem?

What is the defining factors of "holy texts" vs subjective or even faulty verses?

Thanks!
