You have a lot of gall. you post something clearly designed as pure snarkiness designed to poke fun at believers. When you are called on it you whine about ad hominems. You are disappointingThank you for staying in character and not disappointing.

I couldn¨t disagree more. I believe that many planets throughout the universe are inhabited by intelligent life. They did not rebel. That is why what is going on here is so important, an object lesson for the universe on free will run amok. Aliens don want to come here, it is akin to a sailor wanting to visit an island where the people all have the plague.....and as long as the ' sin issue ' started in Eden is Not yet settled before the thousand-year governmental rule by Christ Jesus comes to Earth there will be No intelligent life on other planets. However, after Jesus' millennium-long day of governing over Earth then mankind will know more about God's purpose for mankind in regard to other planets.
The reason I'm on Earth is that none of the other planets are so convenient.
Can't say I'm at all surprised that once again you're forced to reach into your "Ad Hom" jar for a reply rather than actually come up with an answer.

It means make wise decisions that maintain the earth.Okay, Then what did god mean by telling us to "rule over . . . ."?
i don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but... You're saying that you take care of the earth in your own way or is this just a crap stir?Doesn't matter what I think. I've only observed that god said mankind was created to do X, and so far mankind hasn't done X and doesn't appear he intends to.![]()
"Imperfect"? What the heck is being "in the imperfect"?"They will" in verse 26 is not an imperative, its in the imperfect.
No real, serious discussion is warranted here so I'll just move on over to the next thread. It looks like Skwim and his ilk are once again well on their way to poke fun at God and his word.![]()
I'd bet good money that shmogie has a backroom full of them.Cool! Where can I get a set of these?
Well, it doesn't mention the earth at all, just its animal life.RedDragon94 said:It means make wise decisions that maintain the earth.
Not talking about taking care of the earth. The scriptures only addresses animals.i don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but... You're saying that you take care of the earth in your own way or is this just a crap stir?
To me, the rule it, is a caretaker role. Be responsible for them, care for them, make sure that they are protected and helped to survive. In Genesis 1:26,27 it says god created us so we would "rule over all the fish in the sea and the birds in the air. . . . rule over all the large animals and all the little things that crawl on the earth.” Rule over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
To me this is extremely odd. In what way are we expected to "rule over every living thing that moves on the earth," and why?
Obviously we have little if any rule over 99% of "every living thing that moves on the earth,” nor does it look like we'll ever have any more.
Just consider:
Considering only those organisms in the Animalia Kingdom there are an estimated 7+ million animals we're supposed to be "ruling over." Sound reasonable to you? If it does then why aren't the Christians and Jewish religions doing anything about it? Why don't we hear sermons about our appointed reason for being here on earth: "Go out and rule over all the frogs and toads." "Go and see after the 5,000 grasshopper species in the world. NOW! It's your god given duty! And while you're at it don't forget about all the blood worms, ticks, and lice that need tending. AND DON'T ASK HOW!"
Sound absurd? To me it does. Yet it's god's wish and command. However, if ruling over every living thing that moves on the earth isn't our reason for being put on earth here on earth, what is?
Why else did god plunk us down on earth? And why can we so easily dismiss god's command?

It seems pretty self-evident that the living creatures of this planet are subject to our whims. We have the superior capability. The presence of more organisms than you can count doesn't change that in any way. The monarchs of human nations ruled more people than they could keep track of, but they still ruled over people.
I'm here on earth because my parents gave birth to me. I cannot speak for others, though.
He's a God hater. I don't know why but he is.

I was going to keep quiet, but then you called out Judaism.
First of all, neither of the verses are a command. The first verse is not in the imperative. And the second verse is written as a blessing. It says that man was created in G-d's image or that he would be fruitful and multiply and that he would have dominion over the animal kingdom.
Secondly, it doesn't say to rule over them by collecting taxes, it means that we're meant to be on top of the food chain and can do what we want with all the other animals. See the parallel verse in 9:2.

At Proverbs 6:16-19 lists things that God hates. God also hates violence according to Genesis 6:11; Psalms 11:5,
and God hates lawlessness according to Psalms 5:4-5. So, the reason God hates is because the lawless and violence people cause trouble for the righteous ones.
Just as if you had a beautiful house that became infested with rats, you would Not burn down your beautiful house but you would have the rats exterminated. So, for the 'sake and safety' of the righteous ones the executional words from Jesus' mouth will ' exterminate ' the wicked as per Isaiah 11:3-4; Revelation 19:14-16, besides Proverbs 2:21-22.
