Old Poem - Woe to those who pray...

I wrote this way back in high school:

Gazing upon the seas of lights

Bowing down knowing the rights

In awe they prepare to disappear

They do their best to exist no more

While we're left behind in our ego

Our heads are raised even while bowing

Let alone knowing the reality of prostrating!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless of our prayers!

The praises of the Lord are everywhere

Each sign increases them in desire and awe

Awe of his glory

Desire of his beauty

As their dignified tongues utter,

Attributing the praises to his Essence,

Free from lying so they do not stutter,

their hearts are reminded,

of the witnessed praises

while we do it in worthless phases!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

Increasing the lights and glories,

But we the heedless are deprived,

we who's tongues are wasted in idle talk!

we who talk the talk!

but don't walk the walk!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

They're souls are lifted every time!

A new height they reach due to their humility,

But our pride leaves our prayer a crime!

In the Sacred Essence they swim,

Committed, desiring, going ahead,

while we the heedless worship our whim!

we want to reach greatness!

as if it can belong to us,

as if la ilah ilallah we never witness!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

The Guide is ready to show the states

The Witness of people of recent times

The greatest devil is United States

It's left our souls filled with so much hate,

So our souls would burn where we to see

The truth of this reality!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

The reality surely will come one day

awaken to it we shall be

far way outside the light

we will burn due to reality

Complaining to it's believers

Weren't we with you?

O you beautiful lights!

Stay with us, so we can gain from your light!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

Some brothers and sisters

Saw as pious saints!

They might have saved themselves

Being disgusted by our stench,

Only had they knew!

But now that the veil is removed

our ugliness is in full view!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

If we only kept up what was revealed

we would've ate a wondrous meal

from beneath us

and above us!

We washed our outer tongues every time

But at the end even the washing was a crime.

as our inner tongue remained dirty,

so our inner nature too remained filthy,

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

the fruits of love we never tasted,

while the wage was but for ourselves!

in the books of both sects,

love of his family is in the shelves!

not attracted to the light,

we chose this world over the next

and hardly gave Satan a fight!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

The wage was there for us to take a path

The scent of the shirt of Yusuf healed Yaqoub eyes,

in the same way the wage would've healed our spiritual eyes,

Reminding us of the unseen beauty of holiness,

Hussain means beautiful,

but outer beauty is all we know!

So blind we remained in full!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

how long will we go in self-deception,

God is greatest we repeat!

But this world remains number one,

every single time in a heart beat!

we choose it not ready to sacrifice,

So US puppets are taken as rulers

while in this world and next we are losers!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

as if we are the blind jews

Isa reminding them of the light

saying I am the path

I am the the door

I am your daily food

I am the light of the world

I am the truth

so if you were true

surely ye would know me!

when told he was good,

he would say only God is good!

Woe to those who pray,

Woe to those heedless in their prayers,

O Allah,

Let us feel shame,

let's awake

let us crave the real salah

let us crave you

and through turning to you

Guide us to you

And make us tread the path,

the path of your Guide,

in his shadow make us walk!

he who is your treasure on earth!

let us not die blind

so we are blind in the next!

Awaken us now

and not on the day of regret!

regret due to what we use to forget!

Woe to us who pray!

We who are heedless in our prayers!

Awaken us now by your mercy of most merciful!

Awaken us now and save us from disgrace o most forgiving!
