I admit I do enjoy engaging in discussions which I know probably aren't going to go anywhere for some of the reasons to stated above, learning about other peoples point of view and having some sometimes intellectual or philosophical interaction with another human being which is generally lacking in normal life.

It's beneficial to understand why someone believes something even if you can'd bring yourself to agree with them. At the very least it's a more positive outcome than simply assuming that anyone with different views to yourself is just an idiot not worth bothering with which is sadly a view I've noticed some people are quite proud of holding.

I thank Stephen Jay Goulds writings for the inspiration he gave me in regards to being a little more willing to take on what other people say and try and understand their perspective even if I don't agree with it.

My latest friend whom I met at the Bordello- a 56 year Norwegian was an atheist. We did not debate when he told me he met the Dalai Lama in Oslo. He did not go the Dalai Lama but it was the Dalai Lama who went to him. Did you know God loves atheists more than the theists? Atheists are well described in Christ Jesus parable of the Lost Sheep.

According to the Gospels of Matthew (18:12–14) and Luke (15:3–7), a shepherd leaves his flock in order to find the one sheep who is lost.

I don't consider myself to be a lost sheep and while I suspect some atheists would take offence at such a opinion I realise that it's well intentioned, if somewhat misguided.

The King of Hell is Yamaraja- one of the 12 Mahajanas of Krishna. Which means even Satan believes in God. So why can`t you?

Satan isn't as honest as I am.

God is even more dishonest ( transcendental) than you are. Stealing clothes from his devotees- the Gopis bathing in the river & putting them on the tree top then telling the Gopis to climb up the tree if they want their clothes back.

Can you define God? If not, I have no idea whether I believe in the God you're trying to discuss.

I accept defeat, and I'll admit I have been defeated a few times.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted (Matthew 23:12 )

Nah... It doesn't hurt to admit you're wrong, it hurts to believe in something when you know you're wrong. (The Sum of Awe 69:69)

Not sure what you meant by that, I interpreted it as you saying if I drop my opinion I was humbled, sorry if you meant something else I'm bad with big words.

When you accepted defeat you did not actually loose for you have been exalted by God who is in heaven but those who will not accept defeat will be humbled by God who is also here on earth.
