I thought question 7 about salvation was good. I've had atheists explain it to me, but the answers seemed a little simple. Maybe the answer of "Life has more meaning when you aren't trying to appeal for the next life" is just all there is to say on the matter, though.

I dunno...Why did God make the universe look like it's 13.7 billion years old and the Earth 4.5 billion years old, when it's really only 6,000 years old?

(Seems to me like he wants us to believe it's really, really mind-bogglingly old...maybe because it really is)

Where did the 6,000 year idea even come from?

    #7:
Purpose? Why would there be purpose? What evidence is there for it? Purpose implies intent --whose intent?
Salvation? Salvation from what? Isn't the whole salvation thing part of Abrahamic mythology? What evidence do we have that we need saving?
Ussher. Is the Universe Only 6,000 years old? Young Earth Creationists Say Yes!

I used to think that question about why are there still monkeys, then I learnt about how species can travel into different environments, allowing the selection of alternative traits.

Forgive me for not explaining it in an easy way for a beginner to learn, but there are wonderful teaching resources with diagrams and other useful things for that available on the internet for those who search for them.

The objections are so logically or factually absurd, so totally clueless, it's hard to believe anyone actually takes them seriously.
I'm surprised these people are able to write their signs their holding.

Correct. It's analogous to "If Americans derived from Brits, why are there still Brits?" That's cultural evolution, not biological evolution, but the principles are the same : a group breaks off and changes as a group from the group it left - language, customs, values, etc..

In the 17th century Archbishop James Usher, using a literal reading of the Bible, deduced that the first day of creation fell on, October 23, 4004 BC. Add to that the 2,000+ years since Jesus and you get 6,000 years.

    1. There are still monkeys, because, well, evolution.
    2. Because.
    3. We've only found one of you.
    4. Evolution.
    5. They don't.
    6. Science is not a theory, it's a progression of images. I object to images that don't progress.
    7. My purpose is me.
    8. There's this thing called the Earth, and it spins around. Once a day, the sun shines on a part of it.
    9. I don't believe in something from nothing.

I'd say two things (as an atheist)...obviously just my view.

    1) There is no objective meaning to life. That doesn't mean there is no meaning, just that each of us needs to determine it.

    2) I never understood how adding God to the equation, or an eternal life post this one, automatically conflates with 'meaning'. That makes no sense to me at all, yet appears to be commonly accepted as a given.

Well, I am a Creationist, but old earth, so most of my answers would follow science.
But #7 as reduced to where it is ends, is interesting, namely how do science explain subjectivity?

So for all of you: How do science explain subjectivity?
I do like an answer to that using science, so can you do that?

    Regards
    Mikkel

it doesnt, science is objective, it doesn't get involved in personal feelings

So science can't explain, what subjectivity is! Okay, so how do you do that, if not using science?

    Regards

    So what is personal opinion?
I am asking because you are not the first one to use personal opinion as an answer. What is it? How does it work? Are all cases of personal opinions the same? Are there any overlaps with faith? So on.

    Regards
    Mikkel

By using words, as you do for anything else in the dictionary.
