Yes the far right is rearing its ugly head in several forms, in America, in England, parts of eastern Europe.
It is,it's horrid and I can only see it getting worse.

For all their condescension towards the state of British politics, the far right is far more politically powerful in 'enlightened' European countries like Germany, Austria and France.
A fact that also seems to escape many Brits on the centre-left looking longingly to the continent.
Me too, for many years to come, swings and roundabouts. Last time far right politics hit the fan brought the world to war.
Hopefully more sane minds will prevail and the situation will ease back to centralist politics, but i wont wo holding my breath.

This is true,in eastern Europe it's very strong too.
Me either,it's gathering momentum so I'm hoping for the sane minds too.

extremists on both 'sides' are dangerous.
I, however, have always wondered how anybody gets away with calling Nazism far RIGHT. Nothing about Nazism resembles anything that mainstream conservatives believe in.
I repeat. How does anybody figure that Nazism is 'right wing' in ANY way?Nazism of the 30s and 40s was centre right authoritarian. Things have moved on, todays Nazi's are about as far right as possible

Would someone please explain that to me?
I'm especially interested in how Nazism of the 30's and 40's would be considered CENTER right authoritarian.
I'm pretty darned right wing. Nazism is about as far to the LEFT as I can imagine, to be quite honest. How DO you guys get away with this?
Not that crap again. Nazism is usually considered far-right because rightism is defined by a belief in hierarchy and leftism is defined by a belief in equality. So that's how they can be considered far-right. Conservatism isn't far-right, nor is it the only right-wing ideology so I don't see why you're confused.extremists on both 'sides' are dangerous.

That's why I'm against the socialist Democrats. Their method of operation is tyranny through crisis.I agree with everyone that this is horrible. My concern is that extremists on the left will cook up "solutions" (like censorship), that would end up being worse than the disease.
Any chart that puts OBAMA on the 'right authoritarian' quarter has a credibility problem.Simple really, because Nazism is right wing and you can repeat it until the cows come home, it will make no difference to the politics
Maybe the political compass (quite an authority on political leaning) chart showing where Hitler stood may help you figure it out

A better category for them would be third position, since NS has both far-right and far-left aspects. There's a leftist economic strain of it called Strasserism, for example.
