My Third Cousin is African American

Does that mean I'm Black? Not that I care one whit. I had rather hoped I'd be Omani. :(

Ancestry.com says that we are third cousins!

He was giving a lecture on Youtube, giving a lecture ,on Orientation, that said humanities'
redeemer would come from Africa, or out of the East. I don't care at all, and would be Black.

I'm just interested in what denomination he might be from. I "think" that almost 60 years ago, I had a red bible given to me by either a Mormon, or a Jehovah Witness that said that the "Black man would be the henchmen of satan." Or, it could have been by the Seventh Day Adventists, who knows?

Of interest is the "One Drop Rule". What ???

His name on YouTube is RevWebb. Mysteries, mysteries ...

This is an important, vital part of my self esteem. :)

Third cousin's mean you share the same great great grandparents. So the African could of been after your relation, like there parents or Grand parents. The only way to find out is to do a DNA test yourself. Since most of civilization came from Africa a lot of people have a trace of African in there DNA. I myself have 2% African DNA.

As too your biblical comments they are racist. Black is just a skin color a very minor change in our DNA structure and has no bearing on humanity or spiritualism.

No, you're not black, just as Elizabeth Warren isn't Cherokee or whatever. Just because you have a black ancestor or Native American ancestor doesn't mean anything. Most Americans have black, white and Native American ancestry in their families if their families have been here long enough, so it really doesn't make you special. Hell, I'm half-black but I don't identify as black. The "one drop rule" is racist garbage from slavery and Jim Crow made to keep whites "pure".

There are parts of America where I am told that the "One Drop Rule" still applies with the local populace as if it were law. Many Americans are shamefully racist, and I came from a family like that. My own present views are dramatically different than theirs. There are those who I know that will likely now see me as "tainted". Others would demand that I keep such things secret.

I made this post to highlight such shameful and embarrassing conduct.

You & I sure do live in a very different countries.
I only hear of the "one drop rule" with any serious consideration on RF.
And even here, it's to justify including oneself with black folk, rather than
exclusion from white folk. Personal experiences vary, eh.

I've been around just lots of racists and I screw with them every chance I get.
