My problem with Muslims from personal experience

I've noticed Muslims, whether they be from Sub Saharan Africa, the Indian subcontinent or Arabia, don't ever blame themselves for their wrongdoings.

They condemn Israel, complain about American foreign policy, say 9/11 was an inside job and say ISIL is a grand Israeli conspiracy.

I know a Turkish guy and a half Lebanese girl from my hometown who both drink alcohol and smoke

From college I know a British born Bangladeshi and British born Pakistani. The latter is part of Pakistani solidarity campaign (but drinks alcohol).

From undergraduate I know a Saudi male (anti Israel), an Omani girl (anti USA/Israel), a male from Guinea Bissau (anti USA/Israel, anti colonial), a half Lebanese half Libyan with a hijab, a British born Pakistani with a long beard, a British born Bangladeshi who wants to go on Hajj but he drinks alcohol, and another 3 British born Asians (don't know where they're from).

From postgrad I know a Sudanese male (hates America), a Bahrainian girl (quite liberal actually), a Saudi lady (hijab, pro Palestine), a Palestinian guy, a Jordanian girl, a Qatari girl (hijab), a Senegalese guy and a Malaysian with a hijab.
Muslims are the easy target but that exists in every religion. Any person who would justify any action by their god or belief is just as guilty. Until one can see beyond the need of a specific belief or book their lives whether true or fake are imprisoned to what they think is right.

Yes it is if you know the history behind the revelation of the verses.

The Quran is about the struggle for freedom of religion and belief.
The entire saga was all about the Meccans trying to prevent the spread of the belief in one God as their entire wealth and economy was based upon tributes to some 360 idols.

When Muhammad declared there was only one God at first they offered power and bribes to Him to withdraw His beliefs publicly but He refused so then they began oppressing and persecuting Muslims for over 13 years resulting in deaths and the fleeing of Muslims to Abyssinia then Mecca. Eventually Muslims were told in the Quran to defend their right to freedom of worship and belief and to fight for it if persecuted and attacked.

The entire Quran is a fight for freedom of religion. Eventually the Muslims peacefully won over Mecca. But all the battles, bloodshed and wars were all about the human right to be free to believe in one God.

I could buy all of that. But Muslims claim that the Quran is the blueprint for how to run a society for all eternity. If Muslims were to claim that the Quran was only about what you just said - a historical period - a lot of problems would go away. But the claim of "timeless" really throws a spanner in the works.

I believe the majority of the 1.7 billion Muslims are peaceful people and that it’s only small groups that grab the headlines of a Christian west only too eager to discredit Islam.

I believe that about half of them want to live in a theocracy.

That is a spin promoted by the mullahs to be able to maintain power indefinitely but the Quran does not support it. It will in the end not prevail.

Another thing that really really bugs me is that apparently the Royal Families of the Gulf Arabia are Zionists even though NO ISRAELIS ARE ALLOWED IN TO SAUDI ARABIA, U.A.E, BAHRAIN OR QATAR.

The Jews are blamed for 9/11 even though 9/11 was carried out by Al Qaeda; the same people who killed Egyptian President Sadat just because he made peace with Israel
One of the founders of Al Qaeda, Abdullah Yousef Assam is a Palestinian; as are Mohammed Odeh and Abu Anas al-Shami.

Even bin Laden himself says he hates Jews:

a) You attacked us in Palestine:

(i) Palestine, which has sunk under military occupation for more than 80 years. The British handed over Palestine, with your help and your support, to the Jews, who have occupied it for more than 50 years; years overflowing with oppression, tyranny, crimes, killing, expulsion, destruction and devastation. The creation and continuation of Israel is one of the greatest crimes, and you are the leaders of its criminals. And of course there is no need to explain and prove the degree of American support for Israel. The creation of Israel is a crime which must be erased. Each and every person whose hands have become polluted in the contribution towards this crime must pay its*price, and pay for it heavily.

(ii) It brings us both laughter and tears to see that you have not yet tired of repeating your fabricated lies that the Jews have a historical right to Palestine, as it was promised to them in the Torah. Anyone who disputes with them on this alleged fact is accused of anti-semitism. This is one of the most fallacious, widely-circulated fabrications in history. The people of Palestine are pure Arabs and original Semites. It is the Muslims who are the inheritors of Moses (peace be upon him) and the inheritors of the real Torah that has not been changed. Muslims believe in all of the Prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all. If the followers of Moses have been promised a right to Palestine in the Torah, then the Muslims are the most worthy nation of this.

When the Muslims conquered Palestine and drove out the Romans, Palestine and Jerusalem returned to Islaam, the religion of all the Prophets peace be upon them. Therefore, the call to a historical right to Palestine cannot be raised against the Islamic Ummah that believes in all the Prophets of Allah (peace and blessings be upon them) - and we make no distinction between them.

(iii) The blood pouring out of Palestine must be equally revenged. You must know that the Palestinians do not cry alone; their women are not widowed alone; their sons are not orphaned alone.
