In addition to this thread Do you trust the government of your country

Few people trust their government, but how do you guess your country compares to others worldwide?

There are 195 countries in the world, how well governed is yours comparatively?

(Of course this requires a lot of guesswork, but what is your hunch?)

If you want to note your country below along with your guess.

How good is the government in general, with a tendency towards the longer term.

Rule of law, social services, economic management, etc
I think the current UK government is mainly concerned with protecting and enhancing their (and their friends and families) wealth and that they are very good at it. Not sure what percentage to give it though...

I might have picked top 10% a few years back, but I think we're slipping in the rankings.

In the UK I can get a decent education, I can go to university, I have access to millions of books.

I can get healthcare up to a reasonable point if necessary.

I do not live in a mafia, cartel or other such state.

I have access to the internet reasonably unfiltered as compared to China.

I have drinking water.

I am free to do as I will disregarding any woke X nonsense taken up by the police (being arrested for tweets).

My government functions reasonably compared to others and I find the voting system works well for me.

The Church is very free, along with other forms of worship.

I do not feel unsafe in the UK.

Our government, as usual, seems to perform best in a crisis and hobbles along in a very British way otherwise.

I support the King.

We have a functioning judiciary.

Top 10%.

There are a lot of countries with far better government than what we have in the U.S., but there are even more countries with worse government. So I'd guess that the U.S. is somewhere within the top 25% to 35% in terms of good governance.

Probably a lot higher than you think.

A pretty fair legal system alone puts you near top 25% or so. Universal healthcare and free schooling is decent too.

Comfortably top 25% I’d say.

The government are deliberately chipping away at all three by privatising, under-resourcing and other changes. There are, or have been recently, strikes by people in all three of these areas - legal (lawyers), health (nurses, doctors, consultants) and education (teachers).

Honestly I think that culturally, in Europe, the real democracy is measured with another standard.

Whether commoners can become leaders of a country.
Otherwise there is plutarchy: only the wealthy and the élites are allowed to become presidents, and that's undemocratic.

I would love to say top 10%. But I am going with top 25%. If there was a top 15%, somewhere between 10 and 15.
