Mussolini loved Jews

Mussolini's only Dentist he saw was an orthodox Jew, Jews were highest members of the fascist party originally, Mussolini's doors were open to Jewish children who were never criticized for race or religion, Mussolini helped Jews escape to Argentina and places, he ordered people to not return runaway Jews to Nazi Germany, he openly criticized Hitler's racism, and Italian government was criticized by Germans for not rounding up the Jews. Eventually, especially in 1943, Mussolini put some anti-semetic laws in writing to tickle Nazi ears, but these were minor compared to Germanies, and these laws he wanted to not be enforced and did what he could to help the Jews. By the time he found out about the extermination camps it was too late as well.

Allies tried all they could to get Mussolini on their list of war criminals and could find nothing but many lies that couldn't be proven and a man killed in cold blood and savagely publicly humiliated and desecrated with no trial.

Mussolini enjoyed taking his Jewish lovers to wine and dine at Italy's best places, enjoyed the company of Jews, respected their beliefs as long as they weren't militant atheists, and had Jewish secretaries who loved him. Mussolini liked Jewish comedians and writers, and quite obviously liked Jewish Fascists.

Mussolini believed siding with Hitler was good for the Jews because Hitler was threatening to invade Italy and there were a lot of Italian Jews there. Mussolini was told he could grab land rather than let the Nazis grab all the land, and He believed he would be more kind to the Jews in those areas of his restored Roman Empire than the Nazis were. So, Mussolini's reasons for siding with Hitler were to create a Roman Empire more tolerant of the Jews that relieves suffering and pain in the long run. You will know this if you read the writings of the person who knew him better than anyone and who values honesty and doesn't cover for his faults.

Rachel knew him since he was 7 and unlike the communists, Rachel firmly believed lying was a sin. In her integrity and value for honesty, she mentions how angry her husband made her at times and what his faults and sins were.

I will not whitewash or cover for my husbands faults --Rachel Mussolini

I trust Rachel as by far the best source on Mussolini. Extremely so. She saw that not one documentary about him was true so decided she'd write a book about him and just tell things as they are. Rachel was a simple peasant who values hard-work, charity, compassion, and integrity. If Mussolini was terrible she probably would not have married him and definitely would not write a book saying good things about him after he openly cheated on her.

Then why was he anti semetic in practice?
Italian racial laws - Wikipedia
The Italian racial laws (Italian: Leggi razziali) were a set of laws promulgated by Fascist Italy from 1938 to 1943 to enforce racial discrimination in Italy, directed mainly against the Italian Jews and the native inhabitants of the colonies.
Mistress' diary: Mussolini was a fierce anti-Semite
Benito Mussolini was a fierce anti-Semite, who proudly said that his hatred for Jews preceded Adolf Hitler's and vowed to "destroy them all," according to previously unpublished diaries by the Fascist dictator's longtime mistress.
...
Claretta Petacci, Mussolini's mistress, between 1932 and 1938 are the subject of a book coming out this week entitled "Secret Mussolini." Excerpts were published Monday by Italy's leading daily Corriere della Sera and confirmed by publisher Rizzoli. Historians said the diaries appeared to be convincing and reinforced the image that Mussolini was strongly anti-Semitic, even though early on there was some Jewish support for his Fascist

Anti-Semitism was not a major concern of the Italian people in modern Italy until Mussolini introduced it. Mussolini combined anti-Semitism and racism to form the Fascist racial policy.

Many people including ex-lovers were paid by commuists to tell lies and human beings are full of lies. People were jealous of Mussolini as well for peacefully dismantling their democracy and giving some of their land to the Pope.

If you actually look at what many of those laws were they were not barbaric and didn't effect countless Jews, and I believe Rachel when she declares that laws were put into writing to please Nazis because Hitler threatened an invasion of Italy for not being faithful to the pact of steel, but they were not enforced.

Including those who try to sanitizer, revise, and whitewash the bad that someone did.
but they were not enforced.
From what I've read, the laws weren't particularily popular with Italians, but nevertheless they did have dire consequences for Italian Jews. Laws that Mussolini himself enacted.

I don't whitewash him. I just know without a doubt I love Jews and support Israel, yet were I in Mussolini's shoes and saw Hitler winning nothing but victories, and his propaganda that he was a defender of most religions, his threats to invade Italy, Nazi propoganda and psychological warfare against Italy, and I saw such an opportunity to be the Caesar of a restored Roman Empire and anti-Bolshevik block, I would have entered the war on Hitler's side before Mussolini did.

Not if I knew about the death camps , but Hitler was doing everything to keep it hidden. When Mussolini visited Hitler, Hitler appeared meek, humble, charitable, and purposely chose to be Mussolini's maid, making sure he had the perfect pillow and blankets and matress, adjusting the shades, bringing the best art and books, bringing the best food, and Mussolini was impressed with how aesthetic the German uniforms were, how they marched and held rifles better than Italians, how fervent and disciplined they were, how much better their planes, artillery, rockets, and tanks were, how sqeaky clean all windows were, what good condition the roads and structures were in, and how much better and well-run the German war machine was than any other military on Earth.

I would guess over 90% of men easily would have fallen into Mussolini's error in joining Hitler, if they valued spiritual government, because when Spain was being overrun by Soviet backed militant Atheists, Hitler helped Mussolini keep Spain Catholic. France and Britain did not, and France especially was an Arch-enemy of Mussolini already.

So, Mussolini made a mistake yes. He had faults. I would have done the same thing and I know with certainty that I love Jews and religious freedom.

Those Italian Jews were his citizens, meaning he failed to protect his citizens.

he did a lot to protect them under those circumstances and was far nicer to them then had he let Hitler invade Italy and occupy that Nation.

Also, fascists were doing a lot of things that Mussolini told them not to do like torture socialists. Mussolini's lenience was part of the reason people were not following his example.

Mussolini also believed he could protect Jews by writing negative things about them to please the Nazis while not enforcing those things

I would have done the same thing, because at the time France was about to fall, the decision he made was the wisest decision a person could make in that circumstance for both the Jews in the country and Italy as a nation.
