Mt. St. Helens

The mountain has been erupting for about 30 minutes. It started at 12:01 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time, 10/1/04. I live about 100 miles from the mountain and don't feel or see anything. When it erupted in 1986 we did get a coating of ash and we had to wear masks. I think I still have these in my car trunk. The erupting may last for several days, and is not expected to be as severe as in 1986. It is still exciting, you don't have a volcanic mountain in your state real often.

I keep thinking about all of the crystals that are being made by the volcano.:) I want to go find some thunder eggs. I guess there were some scientists in the dome when it started to go off.
