I had the same problem as @Revoltingest, keyboard layout. Just edited my /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols and now I can have my very own special layout(s).
Well, given that Duracell AAAs that I placed in the Bluetooth keyboard didn't even last a week, I've fired up the ol' Dell once again.
Last night I tinkered a bit more with the task manager and noticed that there were Chrome and Edge processes running although both browsers were closed.
I did a bit of poking around on Google and found that there is an option in settings in both browsers to stop them from running operations in the background while closed.
I did that with both browsers and the ol' Dell appears to be running with substantially less lag. I suppose we shall see if this is a long term fix.
