most common reasons atheist

When I talk with my atheist friends about it, they almost always point out to me the general lack of evidence for deity combined with the absurdity of certain (usually Christian) beliefs about deity. For instance, they don't find any of the arguments for the existence of deity compelling, combined with a sense that such things as, say, heaven and hell are nonsensical.

Or you were as much of a victim of a country that fears and distrusts atheists, that has historically been ideal for theists, particularly Christians. Where there is still laws in some states which don't allow atheists to hold political office and, even in those that don't, is still political suicide to admit publicly.

Clearly you're just a product of your atheist oppressing society.

Personally I was born and raised a staunch atheist, but thankfully I live in a country where I am free to openly believe otherwise.

And yes, like most, I would probably rather vote for someone who is likewise skeptical of atheism, and that's also a good freedom to have don't you think?

But most atheists obviously aren't?
Let me restart here from a different hit.

Technically the most common reason is that a person was born in a state that forcefully oppressed any beliefs other than atheism, USSR, North Korea, Communist China etc

Those three you mentioned have a god concept wherein either the leader or the government is seen as, and worshiped as god.
They also resemble almost every single religious country in the world just a couple hundred years ago.

Sure, under socialism, by necessity, politicians are worshiped as all powerful beings, and this has set countries back to medieval living standards in many instances.
