I do not endorse any of these groups but here is their stated agenda:

Proud Boys is likely illegal in that the only members are male. They say they are ultra right and appear to support Trump.

ANTIFA (Anti Fascist) appears to be far left and endorse violence.

Both sides appear to have used violence. From what I heard on news videos, both sides' only talent seems to be swearing a lot.

Most people I have talked to just wish they'd go away.

Me included. Nothing good is going to come of any of these groups. I wonder how many antifa brats can even define what a "fascist" is. And the so-called "Proud boys"? What exactly are they proud of?

Again though, there wasn't any riots in Portland today. Protesting groups =/= riot. Both demonstrated with not much more than harsh language. It ended up not being the violent spectacle I think the media was hoping for.

Being white and male, mostly. They think it's the penultimate achievement of humanity to be white, male and western, and will fight you if you say otherwise. You know, neo-fascists.

It was a far-right protest against Antifa. Only fascist and Nazis have any reason to protest Antifa. Antifa is a movement made up of diverse groups and people and not an organized movement or group. There are some extremists affiliated with it but, by and by large, it's not about going after regular conservatives or Trump voters. The scare tactics in the media about them are likely part of an agenda. Need I remind people that Fascists and Nazis actually kill people. Antifa may punch Nazis, dox them and break a window, but they're not murderers. The far-right also attacks people at protests, including group beatings and shooting at people, as well as dox anti-racist activists and journalists. So people need to stop acting like the alt-right is innocent.

It's not really a group per say. There's no head of it, no organization or hierarchy. The only thing that unites them is in the name 'antifa' short for anti fascist. A historical group by that name existed in history, but today everyone from anarchists of all shades, conservatives and liberals take up the monicker for demonstrations when paid and organized fascist groups like proud boys roll into town.
Most are everyday folk from school teachers to day laborers. But there is a violent streak especially among the anarchists here in Portland, who tag anarchy symbols and do property damage.

Proud Boys do not admit women. I think that might be illegal? I'd love to see someone hold their feet to the fire.

After looking at the news coverage this evening on KOIN, I'm suspicious that the action was as authentic as WWE wrestling. One had a man and his daughter being "attacked" by ANTIFA. What a crock!

Antifa started in Germany in the 1920's I believe. To confront fascists (like Nazi's). They're doing the same thing in America. Fascism isn't welcome in America and people shouldn't support it.

It's illegal to have an association of all males?
    I don't think so.

Btw, I don't belong to them.

They're a street gang, not a formal organization.

It isn't illegal to have sex based membership in a private group.

PB's legal status will be based on their actions which are become more and more violent just like Antifa. Both groups show up to rallies knowing the other will be there thus someone to fight.

Not clubs which aren't a public accommodation.

So Mrs Revolt's book club (for women) is sad & undefendable?
    Nah.
If men or women want to gather with others in single sex associations, more power to'm.

No it isn't. Think of women's abuse shelters that are only for women. Sports teams which only have males or females. There a plenty of good reasons to have a group only for 1 sex. Some reasons are to prevent harm of the sex (individual of) in question like abuse shelters. In sports it is due to biology and completion. There would be no female sports division as males dominate sports without sex based membership. Less females getting sports scholarships as the males are better at it. No WMBA, no woman's soccer, no career path for female athletes, etc. Without sport divisions based on sex there is few reasons to select a female over a male athlete other than pandering and pity.
